About this listen

One OCD neat freak alien. One human woman. Both are abducted and held captive in a very unsterile environment. What more could go wrong?

Simmi: I’ve broken free and I’ve also freed the human who was held captive with me. But I don’t know where we are, and I don’t know where my home is. The local wildlife may be smaller than I am, and maybe they don't have fangs near as large as mine, but I’m still terrified. My issues with germs—and my uncompromising avoidance of all the things that I’m afraid of coming into contact with—is going to get me killed in this wilderness.

Thankfully, Aurora lets me follow her.

Thankfully, she seems to know the way out of this endless and inhospitable woodland and desert biome.

But by the end of our journey, she’ll suspect she’s harboring a contagion. I have no way to know it, but she’s afraid to tell me. Afraid of how I’ll react once I find out what she’s carrying.

Note: This 40k stand-alone story is intended for listeners 18+ due to romantic elements and adult themes. There is no cheating. There is one really germophobic alien. Thankfully, there's also a really understanding woman who is starting to fall for him.

Spoiler: They're totally gonna have a happily ever after...just as soon as they can get off this planet that’s trying to kill them.

So much fun!

Oh I am OCD myself and some of Sim’s concerns are so very valid! I absolutely love this book and reading it actually made me see I might be a little overdramatic

Dumb Fun in the Best Way

This story wouldn't give me a chance to stop laughing! Simmi is so ridiculous but is constantly trying his best and I had a giant smile on my face the entire book. As someone who gets sympathetic embarrassment I had to pause a couple times to let me anxiety cool, but it was a fun trip the entire way. Aurora was a great character, too. She was the only one with any idea about what was going on (poor guy) so she had to take the lead most of the book. The entirety is from his POV, which I think was the best choice as you get to hear his descriptions of all the "horrors" he faces. Anyway, if you thought the cover looked interesting and you're over 18, you'll probably have fun with this one!

A few notes:
Simmi seems to be more of a germaphobe and hypochondriac than having OCD, but I know those things are often confused by the average person. Outside of excessive cleaning he doesn't seem to have any other compulsions

This is technically a sequel the Contaminated. I didn't read it before listening to this one, so starting here shouldn't cause any issues, but it's good to know. I was unaware since I just read the description here until I noticed Simmi referencing characters that it felt like I was supposed to know. Again, it wasn't an issue, though.

This is 18+ for a reason. The alien doesn't have a human body, including alien junk. I know some people are bothered by this, so I figured it's a good heads-up.

Mild Content Warnings (very mild spoilers):
Sexism
Fantasy/sci-fi racism
Sl*t shaming
SA alluded to
Very mild PTSD
Panic attacks from Simmi played for laughs

Note that this book is humor before any other genres, so none of these content warnings were intense and were quickly resolved humorously (except the SA or PTSD, but they were only briefly touched on). As someone who gets panic attacks, they can be funny when looking at them from the outside and they weren't portrayed in any way that's offensive to me.
