About this listen

Best friend. One who knows everything about you. One who holds you accountable. One who loves you unconditionally. One who steps in and defends you at all costs.

For sixteen-year-old Infinity, her best friend, Magic, is her everything, even her private crush. It doesn't hurt that he is breathtakingly fine and the man around her Brooklyn hood. The one who vows to love and safeguard her for eternity. However, her fervent insecurities keep her grounded on platonic avenue, vying to never cross the friendship boundaries. Or is it too late for that?

When a familiar and acute terror attempts to bring severe harm, the best friends get caught up and realize just how far they are willing to go to protect each other. Will this incident strengthen their bond even more? Or will it be the catalyst to end their relationship altogether?

Fast-forward ten years later, and after completing a prison bid, Infinity returns to civilian life, where everything has changed, even her best friend and little sister. Standing on her word to avoid Magic at all costs, she learns how it is easier said than done. When Magic provides evidence that is contrary to her inner turmoil, will Infinity accept documented facts over her conflicted feelings?

When Infinity realizes that her visions of coming home don't equate to her dictating reality, she finds herself caged back up but in a different way. At every corner that she turns, Infinity is met with secrets, lies by omission, and betrayal.

In this thrilling new urban African American fiction standalone, Infinity learns that her reality isn't always real, and her perception isn't always perceived. Get to know Infinity and Magic and see if this best friend pairing can make it last forever.

EVERYTHING

First of all, this book is so funny! Like, I cried, laughing the whole time even when it was supposed to be a serious moment. Magic is everything. Toxic, but everything. Just read.
