Thrown from her horse while hunting the beast, the bookish young woman is quickly drawn to the mysterious stranger who rescues her. But when her rugged savior loses his temper, Isabelle is terrified by the dark secret he’s hiding.

With nothing left for her at home, has she met her end, or is she about to discover a new beginning?

Dark, enthralling and engrossing!

Isabelle Berger is more than a bit sheltered. A shepherdess during the time of the French Revolution she knows nothing of the world, nothing of love. That all changes the night her father is killed tracking a wolf, the night she is injured, the night she meets “him”, the night she meets Howl. Brilliantly narrated, Cry Wolf is a dark, twisted yet so perfect blending of The Beauty and the Beast and The Beast of Gevaudan fantasy stories that really had me squirming on the edge of my seat! Oh, and If you’re not familiar with The Beast of Gevaudan, don’t worry, I wasn’t either! Everything you need to know is brilliantly and creatively explained as the story plays out! The characters created by the author are ingenious! Some innocent and delightful, some conniving and cruel, and some just purely evil, but all so fully developed, they feel hauntingly real! No spoilers here! I’ll leave it to the listener to decide the good, the bad and the fugly! The plot was beautifully done as well! The story flowed smoothly, held my interest throughout and left me with no unanswered questions! There is a very realistic feel to this one along with some violence, but given the time this story takes place, it’s necessary to the plot, not gratuitous and not overdone. I have to say, taking listening breaks was a problem for me with this one. I didn’t want to stop. I was up way to late because I needed to know how it ended and it was so worth the lost sleep! The entire performance had a very haunted feeling and the brilliant narration only added to that feeling. I loved everything about this story! Five hauntingly fabulous stars!

Great Collection!!

This collection of stories is a very intriguing and unique retelling of Beauty and The Beast.
I definitely enjoyed the authors retelling. Both Belle and Howl's characters preserved through many obstacles and twisty turns and grew so much since the beginning of this tale. Very enjoyable audiobook listen!

Beauty and the Beast

This series is a wonderful take on Beauty and the Beast but from a darker perspective. I love how the author plays with the topic of the Beast and that nothing is as it seems on the surface. This series is geared towards young adults so there's no sex (brief kissing) and some violence. I enjoyed the characters and loved rooting for the h and H.

Cry Wolf

Interesting take on Beauty and the Beast. Some parts had me scratching my head but for the most part I enjoyed the story. Characters were already half made but had their own twists. Narration was well done for the most part. When the female read for the make lead, she made him sound 12 and that was unpleasant.
