About this listen
Dylan thought he was an average man with a dead-end job and no great aspirations. When he finds a black book lying innocently on his lawn with peculiar words and markings, he discovers the universe is bigger than he imagined. The guardian of Earth, who kept the book and its immense power safe from falling into the wrong hands, was killed. Now Earth needs a new guardian.
The battle to protect the book begins early for Dylan, as he must rely on his newly discovered powers to defeat the creatures sent to take the book. Dylan's life is sure to be full of adventure, danger, and magic.
To protect his book and the world that now relies on him, he must learn to survive in a foreign world, fight fierce horrors beyond imagination, master the magical arts, and ultimately battle a dark god who has already destroyed one world.

Fairly Amusing, Narrator Annoying
The protagonist had loads of personality and the narrator's voice was appropriate for him, but most of the other voices had bizarre inflections, totally at odds with the scenes and emotions being expressed. It made me tired just listening to them, and eventually irritated. If I had any advice to give to the narrator, it would be "Don't try so hard."

Awesome and adventurous!
I really enjoyed Rain Oxford's The Guardian Grimoire! The story was amazingly adventurous and Todd Menesses did a wonderful job telling it. Oxford did a great job creating a vivid tale of of adventure that I will remember for a lifetime! I don't know if she made up some of the words in the story, but if she did, that made it even more intriguing to me. I'm definitely going to do some research about this genre because before this book, I really had only ever entertained works oike The Hobbit, Lord if the Rings, etc. But, this has reminded me that there's a world of fantasy and adventure stories to dive into! Great job, Rain!

Amazing audiobook !!!
I am a huge fan of the fantasy books and a very tough audience to please. This audiobook exceeded all of my expectations. The story is fresh and original in the genre, with some very likeable characters. It is written flawlessly, creatively and the author took great care to present the content in an easy and understandable manner. The narrator also did a great job and made listening to the audiobook an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this material to all the fantasy lovers, I give it a, well deserved, 5 stars rating!

The Guardian's Grimoire
This book was actually really good in my opinion. I really like books that contain magical themes. I'm usually more of a horror reader/listener. Although I'm really a horror, fantasy, mystical type guy. I thought the narrator did a superb job of making each character unique and distinct. Overall I enjoyed it quite a bit. I can't wait to listen to the other books in the guardian series.

Definately worth the credit!
What made the experience of listening to The Guardian's Grimoire the most enjoyable?
The book is easy to follow and the narrator did a great job!
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite was Dylan because he was the main character. He's very realistic, smart, sarcastic, and likes Star Wars.
What does Todd Menesses bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The alien language is really neat to hear out loud.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It's too long, but it's great for long driving trips.
Any additional comments?
It's great for all ages and I look forward to more books from this author.

Very entertaining
Good book. Lots of detail, believable characters, and magic. It's clearly the first in a series. The main character is in his early twenties, but there are a lot of references to historical events/people and psychology.
The narrator did a great job at keeping so many characters straight. The alien language is well thought out. Dylan's voice suits him well.
I would recommend this for people in their twenties who enjoy sarcastic humor and a LOT of imagination.

Lots of Imaginative Details
Narration - Todd Menesses - pretty good!
There were a lot of character voices and he has a pretty good range of different characters in his arsenal. Some of the Asian accented narrative was a little stilted, but overall, you really feel like your experiencing a bunch of different individual characters.
So this is kind of a hard book to review. Overall, I liked it, but at the same time, it took me a long time to get through this book, and not just because it was 17 hours and 45 minutes long. This is a paranormal fantasy with not just one alternate world, but several. The author has created several worlds, complete with unique beings, unique animals, unique foods, unique atmospheres, unique gods, unique languages, you get the idea. So with that said, there is a LOT of detail and you really have to pay attention if you want to grab it all. Just more than I could or wanted to commit to memory. I realize, others will love that, so this book is for lovers of really detailed and imaginative fantasy worlds.
Now, the main three characters of Dylan, Davina and Edward were really enjoyable to get to know! However, sometimes I felt like the information was coming to us in interview format. Dylan would ask them questions almost as if to answer what we as readers might be questioning about the story. Then they would roll into an overly detailed answer. It sometimes felt like an unnatural way to get the information. The bad guys confessed their roles in the evil plots a little too thoroughly and willingly for my liking as well. At least torture the information out of them or something (but that might say a little too much about me :)
So, for me, this was an OK listen. I probably won't be moving on to the next one in the series.
