Profound Ideas but....

Won't say this is a great piece. But a good start particularly if you're just entering into the space of Corporate Culture. It spells out the basics but the idea of positioning the ideas as absolute is pushing things far. At the minimum, it's more of an opinion (of the author and the CEOs he interviewed) and not a research. So the ideas are profound, but they shouldn't be positioned as do or die practice.

Good, but has a creepy pastor vibe

The author has great concepts but some a really creepy like the word "framily", which is a mix of friend and family. If I would be an employee, that would freak me out if my manager used that word. Overall it was well worth listening to the book to learn about creating a work culture

Noble purpose, average execution

A thoroughly “American” view on organizational culture, I do not recommend if you are on any other continent/country and looking for usable information.

It was good as a tool to broaden one’s mind with a different point of view, but it was pretty annoying how the author was able to comprehend that companies outside the church exist, but not that there are different cultural environments outside the US. Not sure if this is mentioned in the intro of the book, but it definitely should be as he does not recognize that anywhere in the text.

There is also a little too much selling of his own business for my taste, which I may have forgiven if he had taken a broader view on his theories, ideas and tips.

Point off performance because it hurts my ears when someone pronounces the “h” in whip, why and other such words :))

Very good book. highly recommended

Most ideas eco with mine. the author reveals how important culture is in the workplace. specially around hiring and firing.
many truths are shared.
This book will help any kind of role understand the dynamics of working at a company and understand it's kind of crazy (the author here refers to culture.)
