About this listen

A former TV writer, Marshall Karp is the author of three previous Lomax and Biggs mysteries, including the uproarious series debut, The Rabbit Factory. In Cut, Paste, Kill, Lomax and Biggs investigate a disturbing series of murders—with the only clues being scrapbooks left at the scene of each crime.

Loved the characters & humor. Excellent narration by Tom Stechschulte. Will look for other books by this author - hopefully, there will be another in a series.

Very Enjoyable

Enjoyable but predictable mystery that takes place in Southern California. Good narration and voices other than the British accent.

This is a relatively short book that was a good listen while I was working on some art projects. It is not complex, deep or thought provoking. It is well written with broad, entertaining characters. The subplots are predictable but the main story-line is a bit far-fetched. Good entertainment value for my time.

I am not as enamored with Tom Stechschulte as some other reviewers. I felt several of the minor characters were so broadly done as to be edging on offensive - in particular Big Jim's live-in girlfriend Angel.

I was born and raised in Southern California. The places and the attitudes towards the entertainment business ring true. This is my second listen in the series - not intentional, I did not realize it until I started listening to this one (The Rabbit Factory was the first). I don't think I would hunt down another but I won't be upset if I pick one up as a daily deal)

Fun Hollywood story

Characters once again were entertaining witty and full of energy. I have truly enjoyed the first 4 Karp novels and can’t wait to read Terminal.

Funny and great story

This mystery's fun. The comedy cop team of Lomax & Biggs tramp through what otherwise would be a ho-hum plot. But Marshall Karp is a smart, feisty writer. I'll buy the next in this series, especially if Tom Stechschulte brings his imagination to creating the cast.

Would you listen to Cut, Paste, Kill again? Why?

This is the 4th book in the Lomax and Biggs series. The same review applies to all in the series. It has a creative plot with plenty of twists and turns. Add to that some witty dialogue and you have a fun ride.

What about Tom Stechschulte’s performance did you like?

Tom Stechschulte is among my favorite narrators. I think his voice is best suited to books based in the South but it works well here.

Any additional comments?

I give it a top rating within its genre: mystery with a sense of humor.

An Interesting, Fun Series

‘Cut, Past, Kill’ is the next installment in the Lomax & Biggs mystery series. I really love the series for two reasons. First is the characters, they are fun and interesting and you can really connect with them to make you more invested in the story. Second is the innovative killers the author comes up. Any one can have a sniper or ‘Criminal Minds’ normal serial killer but one who scrapbooks? Really? It’s well written and interesting and I hope the stories keep coming!

The narrator does great with all the characters and really helps bring them all to life. He's a perfect fit for this story.

Tons of fun

This one was not even close to the others in the series before it. I actually fell asleep listening to part of it. Same great narrator, just not enough meat on the bone.

scrapbooking? Family Law?

What a riot! Quirky characters all over the place with great dialog and a plot that is just too funny to believe!

Hilarious!

Enjoyed the story and who can ever forget Big Jim. He should have been in it more, with Terry and his dream of directing a trucker story. Narration was dead on and very enjoyable.

Another wisecracking tale
