About this listen

From New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant comes another gripping story in her Reaper series featuring a brotherhood of elite assassins who wage war on the Fae at Death's behest—and the women who dare to love them.

There is no escaping the Reapers—or me. If you succumb to evil, you will be judged. And we will come for you . . .

I've known the torment of being trapped, of battling monsters—both outside and within. But I've also known the peace and completeness of holding the one I was meant for in my arms. Unfortunately, she's not intended for me. I am destined for one thing and one thing only: eradicating the evil that plagues our world. Once I deal with my nemesis, maybe I can finally rest. Even if it means my soul being reaped by the strong, beautiful, and utterly captivating woman who makes my heart beat like no other. But I'm not sure even that is possible. Because I am no longer merely a Fae. I am something else altogether.

Contains mature themes.

I love this book 📖!

I love this book 📖! It's just awesome. I love Xaneth and Aisling. Finally, they are together. They are perfect for each other. I like that Xaneth is more than a normal fae. Aisling is perfect for him. He had suffered a lot, and he needs love. Aisling also suffered a lot. Her story was heart breaking, and she needs him too. They complete each other. I glad Lena is dealt with. she had done a lot of horrible things. She is crazy. This book was just amazing, I can't stop listening to it. I am happy for all of them. I can't wait for next one!

Conclusion to the Reapers series

As the conclusion to the Reapers series by Donna Grant I was looking forward to this group of characters finally getting some peace and I was not disappointed. This book follows the story of Ashling and Xaneth and wraps up the saga of the Reapers and their battle against Lena. If you haven't been following this series then a lot of this book won't make sense and will be confusing. This should be read in order with the Reapers series and the Dark Kings and Dragon Kings series by Donna Grant. This is not a stand alone.
Victoria McGloven returns to narrate this book and has become the voice of the Reapers and all its characters for me. Thankfully the continuity is there and it brings a comfort of what to expect and makes listening to a book with so many characters possible.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire series and am glad she is continuing with many of these characters in her new Druids books and the Dragon Kings books.

Scary Good!

Seems like I’ve been waiting forever for this book! I loved this couple and the MMC since he was first introduced. I knew it would be explosive when these two finally hooked up but dang did they go through it! Great job on the narration it really brought the story to life.

Nicely done!

I love the way she has neatened up many loose ends while still allowing for further issues! MASTERFULLY DONE, MADAME!

Finally... and the finale

Omg. Dark Alpha’s Fury is everything you wanted and needed for the ending of the Reaper series!! If you loved Balladyn’s story…you are going to LOVE Aislings. This is a story I have waited for since DAH, when Xaneth was introduced. Loved it! 5 stars!!!

Good book

Besides the narrator’s voice I love this story line. It was a great conclusion to the series.

Wow, just wow! Talk about a finale!

WOW.  Just wow.  This book packs a punch and it’s taken me over a week to sit down to write this review.  We’ve all been waiting for Xaneth’s story, even though Grant has shared that he was never meant to be a leading and lasting character.

Both Xaneth and Aisling have experienced crushing betrayal and pain.  Due to a life lived running and hiding from an evil relative, (UGH, still hate her!!) and the torture she him through when he was eventually captured, Xaneth is a changed man (fae).  He is driven to destroy evil and believes himself to be a monster.

Aisling faced the worst pain a woman and mother can experience but was given a second chance at life by becoming a Reaper (fae soldier) by Death/Erith.   She is drawn to Xaneth, but he believes he has to stay away from her for her own good.

When an evil fae wants to kill Aisling to take her magic, Xaneth has no choice but to help her and once he spends time with her, he can no longer resist her.

This was the last book in the Reapers series (sob!) but these characters will tie into the new series; The Sky Druids.  Many beloved characters made an appearance in this book and the ending blew my mind.
As far as the narration, Victoria McGloven expertly brings to life the story in audio. Normally I prefer male and female narration, but she does such a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life with all of the appropriate accents that I can't be mad. Although I'm sad it's over, I appreciate the journey that the author and narrator have taken me on throughout this series.

Dark Alpha’s Fury

I feel like I have been waiting forever for this book. Not as long as Ballydan or Con’s but pretty close. I wasn’t sure about this one being the end of the Reapers, mainly because it felt for so long like the final Reaper book would be Ballydan’s big moment. After reading both books though I understand why Xaneth and Aisling had to be the big finale. Xaneth and Aisling have been dancing around each other for so long, and Lena… She might have been worse then the Others were. This book was great at pulling everything together and answering the questions we still had. I am sad to see the Reapers end, but I know they will show up on Skye and hopefully Dreagan as well.
