Publisher's summary

Dark Alpha’s Night is a brand-new paranormal romance audiobook in the Reapers Series, featuring a brotherhood of elite assassins, from New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant.

There is no escaping a Reaper. I am an elite assassin, part of a brotherhood that only answers to Death. And when Death says your time is up, I'm coming for you...

To some Fae, I am their worst nightmare. For I do Death’s bidding. But for all our strength and skill, a powerful enemy has risen up. Finding Ettie could change everything. The Half-Fae is our one chance. She’s sharp and strong and fierce. She steals my breath every time I'm near her. And looking into her eyes is like a bolt of lightning right through me. She’s what I’ve been waiting for my long, dark existence.

But for us to be together, we must first stay alive…

Two warriors… two hearts… one love

Dark Alpha’s Night is the 5th in the Reaper series which is a spin-off of the Dark King series. The Reapers are new cast of characters that enrich the Dark King series and the greater Dark World.

Ettie is a halfling that has been training for some future unknown battle, since before she can remember. She guards her lands and her sister from and unknown enemy, though she forgets to guard her heart.

Daire is a Reaper that is tasked with protecting the pretty halfling from his enemy… but should he protect his own heart.

As with all Donna Grant books in the Dark World series once you get in… it is hard to get out.

Super intense listen. AMAZING!!

Talk about a close call. Bran has gotten quite sneaky and is one step ahead of the reapers yet again. Can they not catch a break???

Daire and others are searching for Bran's family. Looking for a clue. Searching for assistance. The search brings Daire to Kilkarney. The search brings him to Cat and her sisters, living on acreage, following in their ancestors ways.

Jamie has talent as a mechanic. Carrie is a magician in the kitchen. Ettie, the eldest, can wield a weapon, any weapon. But why? To protect what? How will Ettie know when she has to protect something. Daire is just as curious.

Daire is curious about Ettie in others way as well. The connection is intense. He hands her an elfin weapon but she can't hold it. He tries another, but it doesn't work either. Protecting her from Bran is getting more complicated.

Bran is becoming more powerful. Bran is more determined. He will not stop until he has it all. Is Bran the one that Ettie has been waiting for? Will she be able to win with the help of the Reapers?

Grab the popcorn. You are going to need it while reading this intense, suspenseful story.

Was disappointed in Daire but Ettie made up for it

I really liked Daire from his time with Rhi in the Dragon Kings series, so for me in this book he didn’t really do anything. However, Ettie was kick-ss in this story. I think she’ll become more important in coming books. Her sisters were interesting so I hope we hear more about them. But I’m getting tired of Bran, they need to stop him. Narration was really good by Ms McGloven

Narration could be better

As in most all Donna Grant’s writing, the leads of these other world super secret societies are most willing to divulge all their secrets in a matter if minutes once they’ve been outed. Ok... I can deal. However, the narrator was fluid during the narration portion of the story, but the cadence, inflection, and especially the halting dialogue ruined it for me. Sounded too robotic. It was a struggle to get through. I couldn’t wait for the story to end.
