About this listen

Lead guitarist of the Dark Troubadours, Dayan was renowned for his mesmerizing performances. His melodies stilled crowds, beckoned, seduced. And always, he called to her to complete him. Corinne Wentworth stood at the vortex of a gathering storm. Pursued by the fanatics who'd murdered her husband, she was risking her life by keeping more than one secret. Fragile, delicate, vulnerable, she had an indomitable faith that made her fiery surrender to Dayan all the more powerful.

liked the story, performance, not so much.

I've always liked this one, as I've read the book 2 or 3 times. I also have the book on cd and I like the narrative better on the cd version of it. at times it just seems like he is just reading it, not getting into the the characters. I could be wrong but after listening to both I like the other one better.

Beautiful Love Story

One of my favorite Dark stories. A tale of gentle love filled with emotion and longing. You also get to re-visit many beloved characters from Christine Feehan's previous dark novels.

excellent

this narrator is excellent! I like how he does the characters. some of them make the men sound like dracula and that takes away from the book. this was a wonderful romance full of hope!

Finally-Dayan's story!

12th novel/novella in the Dark/Carpathian series, and one of my favorites! I like the creativity of the storyline- the who, what, where of Corrine and their challenges. I generally like "earthy" ;;)) stories, but it's nice to include storylines not quite so "earthy". It gives Feehan's creativity the opportunity to shine.

Dark Melody: Dark Series, Book 12

Dayan is one of the lead guitarist for the Dark Troubadours, was left alone after their leader, has found his life-mate allow their mate some vacation time for the other members that want to catch up with family members and time for some reunion for the family of Daratrazanoff and that of the Savage family. The twin brothers have to unite and catch up with their mates, and the rest of the team members need some time to attend their most senior brother wedding. Lucian and Gabriel Daratrazanoff, who have also found their lifemates. The wedding was Lucian and his life-mate Jaxon Montgomery. It was also time for The Dark-One to meet his senior brothers who he thought he has lost. Only for them to reawaken from their deep sleep, which both have been in for more of the two-century. Gregori Daratrazanoff is known to be the dark-one most feared, the boogeyman of the Carpathian people, known as the best hunter of the vampires without mercy and his reputation as their best healer. Also, as the second in command to their prince, Mikhail Dubrinsky. There is some tension before the meeting Darius was trying to run out of meeting his senior brother because he was afraid, he will not measure up to their legends and the kind of names that his senior brothers had made for their people. But this book's focus was about Dayan meeting his lifemate and finding out that she has been married before. Also, she is with a child whose formal husband also has a bad heart. She is not expected to live long after she had her child. Meet at a bar where Dayan went to perform with another team who was playing there. He had the compulsion to go into that bar and perform that night. When he had given up all hope that he will find his lifemate it was then that she walks into the bar. FOR the sole aim to listen to him play Dayan asked Cullen Tucker to sit with the women. After the song, he had the opportunity to meet her finally. Their friendship began not shortly after when they got home, they found out that some men were in their home. Waiting to ambush them. Take them to their human society people who are responsible for the killings of many psychic women and men. As they planned to keep them save both Corrine and Lisa Wentworth. But Lisa due to her fear of losing Corrine to another man who is not her brother. Her selfishness of keeping Corrinne to their family is now becoming a reality that she will not have Corrine. She did not want to accept that there is in danger in their life and that the same society had killed her brother. Is now after them she thinks that now that they have money and lived in a good neighborhood. Their trouble is over, she does want and hope that if she wishes that way it goes. Thus, Lisa decided to go for her shot without letting anyone knows but it was at that event that the society men caught up with her. When Cullen woke up, he did not see Lisa until he was forced to wake Corrine Wentworth to help him found Lisa Cullen had fallen in love with Lisa he cared for her so much. It was here that Cullen was shot and Corrine hurt, and both were taken to the hospital. But while Lisa was waiting for news about both Corrine and Cullen, the doctors told Lisa that they might not be able to save Corrine and the baby. They will only keep her long enough to give the baby time to grow more and then take her out. By the time Dayan is woken, he went to the hospital and took Corrine out to his people. She meets Dayan's family after Gregori and his little brother and sister have met they began the repair of Corrine’s heart and conversion of the child in her womb. It gave Corrine the baby's precious time to develop and grow. While her heart gets some repair done by their great healers more time to allow, their growing child more nourishment. In the end, they were able to bring the child out of Corrine’s womb and the blood of the Carpathian male who is now Dayan saved both child and mother. He was able to convent Corrine to Carpathian she was giving life after allowing her human body to die and become reborn as Carpathian that gave her body and organs to reshaped into that of the Carpathian people giving her bad heart the time it needs to repair and reshaped. Now as a Carpathian Corrine loves life with all her heart and she is living it with all she got. She was able to meet with Lisa and she asked Lisa that she has to accept Dayan as family and that is now; she married Dayan. She has to be happy for her she loves Dayan more. Corrine also made her understand if Lisa loves her that much. She will accept Dayan, and that her happiness will equally be that much important to Lisa too. Lisa has to know that she is madly in love with Dayan, and he also loves her that much. She also told her that she made the mistake of marrying her brother when she did not like being intimate with him. Corrine told Lisa that she loved John as a brother, not as a husband. She made her see that without Dayan she and her baby will have died. She would also have lost Cullen Tucker. In the end, her not accepting happiness for her would have ended up causing her all. Beautiful ending both sisters end up with their dream and happiness gain by them leaving their old lives behind them. Founding new life for themselves and finding love and joy in the reality that was dealt with them.
