About this listen

Bestselling author Kresley Cole continues her seductive Immortals After Dark series with this tale of a vampire shunned even by his own kind and a beautiful phantom, bound together by a passion they cannot resist.

A RAVEN-HAIRED TEMPTRESS OF THE DARK...

Néomi Laress, a famous ballerina from a past century, became a phantom the night she was murdered. Imbued with otherworldly powers but invisible to the living, she haunts her beloved home, scaring away trespassers - until she encounters a ruthless immortal even more terrifying than Néomi herself.

A VAMPIRE WARRIOR CONSUMED BY MADNESS...

To prevent him from harming others, Conrad Wroth's brothers imprison him in an abandoned manor. But there, a female only he can see seems determined to drive him further into madness. The exquisite creature torments him with desire, leaving his body racked with lust and his soul torn as he finds himself coveting her for his own.

HOW FAR WILL HE GO TO CLAIM HER?

Yet even if Conrad can win Néomi, evil still surrounds her. Once he returns to the brutality of his past to protect her, will he succumb to the dark needs seething inside him?

Mmm Sexy Vampires

Okay you just have to face it, nobody can do a sexy vampire narration as well as Robert Petkoff. I forget sometimes just how good this series is until I re-visit it. It ranks up there with JR Wards BDB series. My only complaint is that Audible hasn't got the complete series yet, whats taking so long??? This is yet another great paranormal tale that I love to re-visit. Even with several new titles sitting in my library, yet unheard, I find myself drawn back to these books. It's like "I know it's been awhile, but I know you are sooooo good" thing. LOL.

I Love The Immortals

These books just get better and better. I loved the fact that Conrad was the virgin full of angst and insecurity, and Naomi was the experienced one. That sure makes a nice change. It nearly had me on my knees when Conrad showed his vulnerability. Robert Petkoff's portrayal of the characters is wicked. You feel like you've been in the room with them. I laughed when an exasperated Bowen informed Mariqueta 'they were gonna have words' after she got caught in the mirror, and cried when Conrad broke when he thought Naomi had died. I'm glad Robert is the narrator of choice for this series as it helps keep character continuity. Can't wait for more IAD - go Nix!

This Vampires needs a Bride

Poor Conrad he is the black sheep of the Wroth brothers. Which is hard to be because they are vampires. Make no mistake he has earned his badness. I believe next to our #1 vampire of all time Lothaire. Conrad could easily be the 2nd most dangerous vamp in the Lore.

In walks Neomi who is a classy ballerina and temptress who happens to be a ghost. Poor Conrad he's already crazy does he need to see ghost too? Yes he does because no one else can calm him down and his brothers can't do it.

This is one of the deepest love stories in KC's series so far. It's fun because we get to have some more of Nix and Meriketa who play major rolls in a lot that goes on the Lore. It's also good to finally get all the brothers Wroth together in one place for a minute.

These books just keep getting better and better

Would you consider the audio edition of Dark Needs at Night's Edge to be better than the print version?

Have not read the print. Love my audible.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dark Needs at Night's Edge?

When Conrad realized he could touch her.

Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes first three of these books and he's a wonderful narrator. And I'm picky!!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I would use the title that was given to this book.

Any additional comments?

Four books down and I just love them. While I did not enjoy the second one nearly as much as the others, I can't wait to listen to them all. You continue to learn more and more about the Lore. It's very fascinating.

Great Series, Great Narrator!

What did you love best about Dark Needs at Night's Edge?

I love that Conrad, who is a supposed evil vampire killer falls in love with the heroine. He is so sweet and loving to her. I like that Neomi loved her life and made no apologies about the way she lived..

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Conrad and Neomi equally. I felt that the depth of the characters was fleshed out so well.

Which character – as performed by Robert Petkoff – was your favorite?

If I had to pick one it would be Conrad, but Robert Petkoff does them all so well. His accents and expressions are spot on. He just seems to really get the story and characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! I didn't want it to end. I want to go re-listen to the series (so far) again!

A bayou beautiful love story

Miss Cole has done it again weaving another delicious tale in her immortals After Dark series. Dark Needs is by far one of my favorite books. Here Miss Cole weaves intricately the past present and future of Conrad Roth, Younger brother and the most viciously insane of the Roth siblings. Turned against his will by his eldest brother Nikolai,he is angrier than another brother sharing the same fate-- although in his case he's taken a more full on vampire way of life then Sebastian. Enter Naomi LaRue The beautiful and beguiling ghost that Conrad(surprising himself), falls in love with. Their love together takes twists and turns in the classic boy meets girl or vampire meets ghost, Love story. With their storyline firmly rooted in the lore and in the backdrop of New Orleans this story can do nothing else but amaze, delight, and
thrill. With narrations that are impeccable, this is a five out of five star book. But don't take my word for it listen for yourself.
