About this listen

Goldy Schulz has a lucrative new gig, preparing breakfasts and conference-room snacks for a local law firm. It's time-consuming, but Goldy is enjoying it, until the night she arrives to find Dusty, the firm's paralegal, dead.

The poor young woman also happened to be Goldy's friend and neighbor, and now Dusty's grieving mother begs Goldy to find out who murdered her daughter. Just because the police are on the case doesn't mean Goldy can't do a little snooping herself.

While catering a party at the home of one of the firm's lawyers, she manages to overhear an incriminating conversation and ends up discovering a few clues in the kitchen.

Before long, Goldy is knee-deep in suspects, one of whom is incredibly dangerous and very liable to cook Goldy's goose.

Love this cute mystery

I loved it but the only thing I disliked is way too lengthy with too many details that aren’t important. Too many unnecessary characters. Needs better editing. But I love the series!

Goldie cooks up another one

Ms Davidson has once again charmed my husband and me with another cosy mystery. While there are recipes in the printed version, they are not included in the audio version.

This time, the victim is Goldy Bear's neighbor at a local Law Firm. Barbara Rosenblat does her usual good job as a narrator.

Do I think you should read or listen to this book? YES!!! While each book has a good mystery to follow with characters who are believable. The mysteries always different with realist townies...even the murderer is "normal" but then that's how murders generally are.

AND you don't have to read these books in order! So if one is on sale and it is not the next one in the series...buy the one on sale and enjoy yourself!

The Reader's Fine - The Book is Not

I read the other reviews, and have to put my word in for the reader - I like Barbara Rosenblat and think she does justice to the protagonist, and still keeps the other characters unique.
I was not enraptured by the story. The timeline was impossible and kept distracting my attention from the plot and reading. The other item worth noting for all readers considering the purchase of this book is that it probably appeals more to Christian readers than, well, than non-Christians. There are lots (read that continual) of references to church activities, but don't take that to mean the book is preachy, it is not, its faith references are many, but fairly passive.
I listened to this, and reviewed it, during world-wide economic crises, so found the Aspen CO wealth-in-my-face setting during the whole book (except for references to the sad Habitat-for-Humanity grieving family and the dreadfully-poor office manager) off-putting. Let them eat cake (or garbanzo-bean bread, if you copy the recipes at the end of the book). The story was interesting and I was never bored (just annoyed), which kept this book from a two-star rating, however this will be the one-and-only book I'll be reading by Ms. Mott.

Dark Tort is Delicious!

Dark Tort is a fast moving mystery with my favorite characters from Goldie's family. It has an interesting plot line, that keeps you guessing till the end.

The receipts are wonderful, and I am dying to try them... This is a great "read".
