About this listen

When interior designer David Snyder buys a beautiful century-old house in eastern Washington, he is reeling with heartbreak and looking for somewhere to put down roots. Unfortunately his new home comes with a laundry list of problems: electrical, plumbing, heating...things David knows nothing about. When his mother offers him the business card of a local handyman, David pictures an overweight, balding man in his fifties. But Jackson Henry couldn't be further from that stereotype.

Dark-haired, muscular, and handsome, Jackson left a large construction firm in Seattle to take care of his sick mother. However, his hometown still has an active "good old boy" network, and finding employment in construction is almost impossible for an openly gay man. Determined to persevere, Jackson takes odd jobs as a handyman. He's exactly what David needs - in more ways than one.

David isn't ready for his attraction to Jackson, not considering the way his last relationship ended. But as the two men get to know each other, it becomes clear that the heart often knows best, and it rewards those willing to listen.

This was a sweet romance, but I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t measure up to Diana Copland’s “A Reason to Believe”. I loved that book. This one was a good romance but apart from a couple of mild interactions with a disgruntled ex, that’s it.

That being said, if I’m in the mood for a straight romance, I would likely read “Michael Reinvented”.

The narrator was good, although there were several mispronunciations. Although they were distracting, it was only briefly.

This story was so perfect. I want to read this a hundred more times. The character development was spot-on it felt like a real relationship was blooming. I felt like I could run into these characters on the street and we which somehow act like old friends because of how well I knew these characters. The narration was a little iffy, in my opinion, at times but that doesn't change the overall quality of the story.

Beautiful

A wonderful low angst love story. Higley recommend for those who like sweet hurt comfort stories.

I have to admit , I was a bit reluctant about picking up this audio book . Usually these "gay" romance books are very poorly written and have razor thin written characters . I was very pleasantly surprised to find this book completely engrossing.. The characters well thought out and the story well conceived. I found myself enraptured by the pure romance of this book. My heart was full of love for these two characters that I was rooting for them the very beginning. The writer paced the story very well and did not rush anything to get to the more "erotic" stuff. I highly recommend this book to any and all looking for a story of inspiration and love. Rob -Kips Bay, NYC

So this was my second Diana Copland book. I didn't even realize she was the author but I just sort of gravitated to it. What really got me interested was Michael Pauley who is an AMAZING reader. His portrayal of characters, and the way he reads just makes it very enjoyable. the story was good, and I really hope to see more from these two~

Michael Pauley is awesome!

If you could sum up David, Renewed in three words, what would they be?

The three words that I would use to sum up David, Renewed are; relaxing, entertaining and unpredictable.

What did you like best about this story?

The overall way in which the two main characters treated each other.

What about Michael Pauley’s performance did you like?

I thought Michael Pauley did a fine job telling the story in a smooth and professional way. I really liked the sound of his voice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Happiness is what you make of it.

Any additional comments?

I listened to this book in one setting. It held my interest every inch of the way and never did it drag. I don't like books that have page after page of just filler. Just a bunch of words that do not add to the story, but are just there to make the book longer. The main reason people read or listen to books is because the story interests them. If the story is not interesting most of us don't bother to finish the book.

This was a very entertaining listen.

Very satisfying and entertaining. like most romances it is a bit predictable but it is also told with enouph skill to incorporate moments of suspense and excitment, and leaves you happy at the end.
