About this listen

If living well is an art, then Toots Loudenberry is a modern-day Michelangelo. Over the past two years, she and her three best friends - Sophie, Ida, and Mavis - have shared joys and troubles, forged new businesses and love interests, and discovered talents they never knew they possessed. Like Sophie’s blossoming psychic gift, for instance.

No sooner has the foursome returned from a trip to Sacramento, where Sophie provided some much-needed psychic guidance to the First Lady of California, when another situation demands their attention…. Laura Leigh, a Hollywood starlet whose main talent seems to be landing in trouble, is missing.

Toots’ daughter, Abby, has both a personal and professional stake in the story. Not only is she editor-in-chief at gossip magazine The Informer, but entertainment attorney Chris Clay, Abby’s would-be beau, was the last person seen with Laura. And now he’s missing, too. Toots knows just how strong Abby’s feelings for Chris run, and the Godmothers are immediately on the case.

With the help of friends in high - and low - places, Toots, Sophie, Ida, and Mavis will navigate Hollywood’s glittering inner circles and seedy underbelly to discover the truth. And along the way, they’ll uncover unexpected secrets that not even one of Sophie’s séances could have predicted.

Any additional comments?

I listen to a lot of Fern Michaels books but this was the first Godmother audio. I will not listen to any others. It is filled with details of how they shower, make eggs and other minutiae that, if left out, would cut the book in half. Very little actual content worth spending my time on.

Pass this one up. Not worth the money.

I like the author and the story line but I do not like spending money for a book that reviews two previous books taking up more than half the book. I think I will wait until series is cheaper if I am skipping through half anyway. Very annoying when following a story line.

Over half of the book was dicussing first two book
