About this listen

Alex Gilly's Death Rattle is a riveting thriller for fans of Don Winslow's The Border.

A death in a migrant detention center leads officer Nick Finn and his wife, human-rights lawyer Mona Jimenez, to investigate the prison's account of what happened.

Trouble is, the company that runs the prison is on the verge of signing a billion-dollar procurement contract with Homeland Security. And there are people in this world for whom a billion dollars is worth a whole lot more than one human life. Or even three.

This is my first Alex Gilly novel and it is marvelous! Read Audible listener Shelley's review. DEATH RATTLE is part suspense thriller and part legal thriller. Christopher Lane's narration is superb.

Shelley's review recommended it so I listened!

This book is outstanding! Add to that the superb narration by Christopher Lane (who should narrate more mystery/thriller books) and this book should be a best seller. Meanwhile, at the time of me writing this review there is not even a single rating. Go figure!
The publisher’s summary barely touches on the main idea. This plot is multilayered, believable and plausible. It begins with the death of a woman in a holding facility for illegal immigrants. The billion dollar private prison says it’s an accidental death by snake bite. The protagonist calls it murder. Everyone has doubts until a poisonous snake it left under the seat in her car.
This is actually the second book in this series. My next purchase will be the first.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.
