About this listen

Just before two dueling book clubs are set to square off at Death by Coffee, one of the competitors turns up dead - bludgeoned with the silver teapot that was to serve as the prize. Suspicion immediately falls on Krissy, who was seen skulking around town in dark clothes on the night of the murder.

To clear her name and find the real killer, Krissy turns to an old flame, Officer Paul Dalton. But even Paul can't ignore the trail of evidence that seems to point in her direction. And with Krissy's personal nemesis, Officer John Buchannan, working overtime to pin the murder on her, it will take an amazing feat of detective work to close the book for good on an elusive killer.

I wanted to like her

The main character is annoying and self involved, I can’t like her, and I really wanted to. The performance was really good but the story was unfortunate.

Annoying

The main character is so annoying that she detracts from the story. I just want to scream at her.

Death By Tea

Very enjoyable plot, twists and turns. Narration was also excellent. I enjoyed the authors story line to the point I am looking forward to the whole series of books.

Very clear narrator

It’s a simple who done it with enough twist turns to keep you going. Very worth listening.

death by tea

Chrissy needs to use a little more common sense, but overall good story and characters.

DNF

I wanted to get to the end and find out whodunnit but I just couldn’t listen to the internal dialogue any more. It just went on and on. Something would happen resulting in seemingly endless speculation about the same general things over and over. I liked the first book so much so I’m a little let down.

frustrating

The main character is always being blamed for EVERYTHING. Everyone in that town are jerks, even her "best friend." she has the worst luck and zero wins. she doesn't even defend herself. It's frustrating!

Chrissy TSTL

The main character Chrissy is an annoying and too stupid to live heroine. She is obnoxious and arrogant and makes you hope she gets thrown in jail. Ive listened to 3 books to give it a chance. Somehow out of order … it really doesn’t seem to matter. I cant even finish this one. She is not only a terrible whinny “ friend “and co worker, but she’s also a terrible sleuth! The story could be good if they gave her a decent personality, any redeeming characteristic! Sorry, i hate to leave a bad review but Chrissy is someone I don’t want to know any better!

The lead character is just too stupid.

Every time I think she will learn her lesson she repeats the same ridiculous behavior. This is the second book I’ve listened to in hopes that there will be some resolution with some of the antagonist. However, without any hints of a resolution in those relationships and with the addition of additional struggles in other relationships I can’t take anymore. I think the narrator captures the ridiculousness of this character to a T but I find it irritating and not entertaining.
