the best thing to come out of this covid lockdown

thanks to this nightmare, I, like way too many Americans, am housebound...so I have actively pursued finding a new, to me, author who is binge worthy... and did I ever luck out with Jon Mills...he is just wonderful...seriously suspenseful... good command of the language...excellent dialog...a really likable hero...it's got it all going on...cannot wait to read or listen to everything available...Thanks Mr. Mills

decent book

Vengeance is the second book in the jack Winchester series. it was good and entertaining however it was more predictable, i guess you could call it. Just was lacking that last 10 percent to be a great book. On to the third book now, still hace hope for the series to be great overall.

Fast paced action...

My first thought after listening to the second book in the Jack Winchester series is WOW! I really liked the first book (The Debt Collector) in this series but book two is really Fantastic!!!!
If you are reading this and USED to follow me in Audible's previous format (Wayne) I think this is a series you might like!
These books are stand alone but I would suggest listening to these in the order they are written. Although each is a complete story, the carry over of characters and relationships developed in each.
This book really fleshed out the protagonist (Jack Winchester). Quite a bit of background is given on him and his childhood and why he got involved with the mob.
This author's writing style reminds me very much of Matt Rogers (Jason King). The characters are very different but have similarities, if that makes sense?!? These books are also very fast paced with the action starting with in the first few minutes and escalating until the end.
At the end of this book the character is given info about his family he never knew and his character has an opportunity for change.
Adam Gold again does a great job narrating.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Wow, just Wow!!!

I listened to book one in the Jack Winchester series and loved it! I saw that book four was released and realized that somehow I missed books two and three. I went back and got them all.

Book two begins exactly where book one ends. I think you need to listen to the first book to appreciate this listen but you will be able to get the jist without it. While Jack was on a mission in book one, in book two things get personal. And scary. Jack Winchester, in all his 'take no prisoners' self', was on steroids in this listen. The bad guys had it coming though.

The narrator was his usual manly self and Jack Winchester lived again. My heart has settled down and now, book three.

Awesome..

It’s been a while since I read the first in this series, The Debt Collector, and I forgot how much I enjoyed it. So, I read the 2nd one today and it was just as good. However, if you don’t like a lot of killing then this book is probably not for you.

I can’t even begin to tell you how many mafia guys were killed. Jack Winchester is simply awesome. Unfortunately, his girlfriend, Dana, and her, Jason felt they had to leave Jack once his sister and Dana were kidnapped, to bring Jack out into the open. Well, he came out! And he killed everyone.

No sex and very little romance and the F-bomb was used 36 times, as it should be when a book is written about the mafia, or drug dealers, or assassins, or any really bad person. Authors who write those kinds of book and don’t swear might as well write Christian books, IMO.

As to the narration: Adam Gold is a wonderful narrator.

Outstanding suspense mystery/thriller!

Shelley of Raleigh, I still follow you and read all of your reviews although Audible has made it much more difficult. Thanks for recommending this series! You remain my best source for new authors such as Jon Mills and J.D. Barker as your reviews also alert me to new releases by old authors I failo to notice such as recent releases from Peter Grainger and Mason Cross. Thanks for your reviews! I see you now have over 13,500 helpful votes. You deserves those and many more.

Debt Collector: Vengeance, Book 2 in the Jack Winchester Vigilante Justice Series, is an action packed and intensely suspenseful novel with a likable protagonist with a criminal past he is trying to overcome. Adam Gold is a relatively inexperienced narrator who does a great job.

Binge worthy series

Jack is a very real and likable character. I do like the way this series is headed.
