About this listen

Passion and patriotism sizzle on the ice at the Winter Olympics.

It's been a dozen years since two of the world's best women hockey players, Niki Hartling and Eva Caruso, first competed against each other in the Olympic Games.

The pressure of the intense USA-Canada rivalry forced an end to their love affair, and both women moved on - Niki to coach and to marry, Eva to stretch out a playing career that her ravaged body can barely sustain anymore.

The Games are upon them once again. Eva wants one last chance to beat the Canadians and win hockey's biggest prize. Niki, now a widow and single mother, strives to coach her country to gold, even as the obstacles against her mount. The locker room seems to have ears, and there are few people Niki and Eva can trust.

Rivals and former lovers on hockey's biggest stage, will Niki and Eva feel the same spark that first brought them together? And can they win on - and off - the ice with the whole world watching?

Love loss

Almost everyone has "the one who got away" stories. We all want to go back to find out if there could/would be more. If we found that person again, it's not always what we wished for but sometimes it is. This is a great example of a happy ending. Great story.

Worth the money!

This was a fantastic sports romance book! You’ve got drama, game play, revivals, sex, love and your happy ever after. Only one thing that got me was in one part when Danny got in trouble for kicking Eva’s knee. It was actually in self defense. But Danny still got what she deserved so I pushed it under the rug. Other than that.. haha this story was amazing. Highly recommend.

So believable!

Loved the story line and the narration. Don’t know much about hockey, now it interests me . Especially the women’s pro.

Delay of Game is a gold medal winner

I loved Delay of Game, so much so, that I listened to it 2x in a row. I love the sport of hockey and then to have the story entrenched in the Olympics, was a winner for me. Anastasia Watley is an excellent narrator and really brought the story to life. The love story was rich and full between Nikki and Eva, but intertwined with that was the added complication of Nikki being a widower with a preteen that she is raising alone. Olympic competition and the shady things that a few individuals would do to win at all costs add to the vibrance of the story. Well done!

Love Lesbian Sports Books

Great story, good narration . The main characters meet again in their late 30s and sparks fly after years of anger/hurt... winter Olympics women's hockey USA vs Canada. Good listen. Give me more lesbian sports audiobooks!

Another great love story

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the kid in the story and how the two main characters found each other and the love they had.

Excellent book

I had only read one Tracey Richardson previously and I enjoyed it immensely. When I saw this one in Audible I knew I was going to check it out, and I'm glad I did. This book has a little of everything in it: romance, suspense, family values, and plenty of angst. The characters are likable and very human in their strengths and frailties. The hockey background makes it even more interesting. It's a compelling story.
