About this listen

SAMSON

She’s always been off-limits. Forbidden. Way too young for the likes of me.

And yet, she still managed to carve out a space for herself in my heart.

But when push came to shove, I made the only choice I could, and I did it even knowing it would break her heart.

I’m back now, and ready to make her mine. Only, she’s not the sweet girl I left behind. She’s wild, reckless, and sexy-as-hell...a challenge I’m all too eager to meet.

STELLA

He was only ever meant to be a crush. After all, what girl isn’t into her older brother’s best friend?

But somehow, our innocent flirting quickly gave way to so much more. He swore he felt the same way about me… he promised we’d tell my brother together the day I turned eighteen.

Except the night before my birthday, he did the unthinkable, and now I’m not sure I know how to forgive him.

All I know is, I refuse to be anyone’s dirty little secret.

For as much as I liked the previous book, this one was a letdown. It wasn't bad, just didn't hold my interest as much. There were a lot of miscommunications between the main characters, and the forbidden trope, the hidden brother's best friend part, it never gave me the stomach-tension that I love from forbidden books. The audiobook was well done, but the story was just kind of bland to me. But the set-up for book 3 has me intrigued.

Not as good as book 1

I really wanted to like this story. The base story was really good. I just couldn’t get over the fact that Sampson was overage. I just couldn’t make it to where that wasn’t in the back of my head as the story went on. Without that fact, it would have been five stars. I used both kindle and audible with this book.

It was a good story but

I definitely wouldn’t describe Stella as “wild as hell.” She’s actually kind of a dork, which is fine… but not what I was expecting. It also didn’t make sense that Sampson was such a simp when she was so meek. But what I really couldn’t get past was the female voice actor. She sounded like a robot with a borderline intellectual disability (I really don’t know how else to say this) and it absolutely did match how she was described in the summary.

Stella Sounds Like She Is Voiced By A Robot
