First let me start with… whoever said they don’t like the MALE NARRATORS VOICE!!! 😳 I’m trying to unread that!!! Sebastian York is flawless add Andi Arndt to the mix and it’s out of this World!!! And as for the story it was well worth the credit and time to get to know the characters. Of course I would listen to anything read by Sebastian York… ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥.

This was my first S.L. Scott novel. Honestly it is one of the best books I have ever read/listened to. The story so impelling brought to light by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York. Cloie and Joshua were a tremendously complicated love story. So well written and so heart-rending. Loved all of it, the hero’s and the villains… recommend highly.

This was an incredibly beautiful story. So much in fact that I listened to the entire thing in 3 intervals and kept me up two very late nights! Going to pay for it today, but it truly captured my heart. The love, heartbreak and hope interwoven in this story will keep you wanting for more. Excellent narration - absolutely perfect picks for these roles. If you're looking for your next great read, you've found it.⚡️

Joshua and Chloe were destined to meet and fall in love. He is a townie, from the other side of the tracks, yet smart enough to be a student at Yale. There's a lifelong issue with his father, and it's a terribly sad story. Chloe looks beyond his circumstances and sees him for the man he really is. Chloe is a brilliant student, graduating from high school early and setting her sights on becoming an ER doctor. Her issues with her own father are just as life-changing and even more damaging. Chloe and Joshua couldn't have been more endearing or better-suited for one another. His witty, good natured and laid back character is the perfect complement to Chloe's uptight and laser-focused attitude toward life. The pain she endures from her father's unflinching need for control is the only thing that holds her back from being her best self. Josh is a balm to her suffering from the day he first delivered chicken and dumplings to her door from his family's restaurant. But his love for Chloe isn't enough to keep him from being the target of sabotage from a father who has a plan for his daughter that does not include him. It's simply not possible to read this emotional story without becoming completely invested in Josh and Chloe, hoping that they can cut through their doubt after years apart, and establish a new and better life together. The simmering and explosive chemistry between Josh and Chloe kept me turning the pages. But if I'm honest, I have to admit to a terrible crush on Josh by the end of the story. I could not put this down. It had everything going for it. A character showcase for vibrant personalities, a pace that doesn't break stride or lose focus from the first page to the last and an ending and epilogue that are tightly woven and beautifully done. Josh and Chloe don't just find their happily ever after, they find their safe haven, their hope and savior in each other. The narration is brilliantly done by Sebastian York and Andi Arndt. The emotion they inject into the words is perfection. Rarely do I think that the audiobook is just as good as the ebook, but this one nails it and brings deeper meaning to the story.

In We Were Once S.L. Scott writes an incredible romance about finding love and yourself while having to make really tough and painful choices for the ones you love. I devoured this story in one sitting. I was completely swept up in the whirlwind romance when Chloe and Josh meet in the first half of the story. This story is phenomenal. So much heat, emotion, passion and angst, I couldn’t get enough. I laughed, I cried, I swooned. Every emotion I want to feel when I read or listen to a romance story I felt here and then some. This book must be experienced by all romance readers.

This story is one of my top favourites this year. A top all time favourite by S.L. Scott and deserves more than 5 stars!

It doesn’t matter how many books I listen to narrated by Sebastian York and Andi Arndt I can never get enough of them. They narrate the voices of Josh and Chloe perfectly. I love the way they each bring so much passion and emotion to these characters.
