This is a book for working women and mothers who are ready to release the culturally inherited belief that their worth is equal to their productivity, and instead create a personal and professional life that's based on presence, meaning, and joy. As opposed to focusing on "fitting it all in", time management, and leaning in, as so many books geared at ambitious women do, this book embraces the notion that through doing less women can have - and be - more.
The addiction to busyness and the obsession with always trying to do more leads women, especially working mothers, to feel like they're always failing their families, their careers, their spouses, and themselves. This book will give women the permission and tools to change the way they approach their lives and allow them to embrace living in tune with the cyclical nature of the feminine, cutting out the extraneous busyness from their lives so they have more satisfaction and joy, and letting themselves be more often instead of doing all the time. Do Less offers the listener a series of 14 experiments to try to see what would happen if she did less in one specific way. So, rather than approaching doing less as an entire life overhaul (which is overwhelming in and of itself), this book gives the listener bite-sized steps to try incorporating over two weeks!

Favorite book of 2019
I went into this audiobook without any expectations and it blew me away. Everything is actionable. Everything makes sense. It even made me emotional in the marriage chapter. I will definitely listen to it and even buy the hard copy to go through the steps. Great job, Kate!

Genius
I loved this book. One of the first personal development books I have read that actually gave me something I can use to CHANGE my behaviors. Tactical, practical and makes so much sense to me! I’m listening to it again to make sure I got all the details and have fully implemented the free tools online to help me help myself!

Inspiring book!
Overall, this book was well written. It was filled with lots of valuable personal insight, experiences and tons of advice. I plan on going back to take more notes about all the excersicies she suggests. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This definitely is not just meant for mothers but for women in general. The book reminds you that you should show a bit of self-compassion while staying productive and - what's most importing - setting your priorities straight.

Totally new-to-me info & actionable
I love self-development books and feel like I've read every book on productivity. As a business owner and mom of three young kids, I'm always overwhelmed and looking for ways to make the best use of my time. I heard Kate on a podcast (Amy Porterfield's "Online Marketing Made Easy") and everything she said just resonated with me. I got the book on audible and probably blew through it in a few days. I loved Kate's narration (I've learned that I really don't like books that are not narrated by the author - there's just something more authentic when an author reads their own material.) I love the idea of planning out my month based on the energy I have, based on my cycles. If you're not cycling, due to pregnancy, menopause, etc, you can instead plan based on lunar cycles. When I put this into practice, I felt the guilt of "not doing enough" during my inward phase disappear. But then, during my outward phase, I felt more energy and ideas flowing and it all made sense. I'm in my 40's and wish I had learned this a long time ago! I now try to plan out, as much as is possible (Kate recommends a goal of 20% of activities) to plan out my schedule based on a monthly cyclical calendar instead of always trying to cram in as much all the time as I possibly can. That's not to say it's an excuse to be lazy - no no. But using our own energy in the most effective ways. I need more rest during certain times of the month, more self-care, and at other times of the month, I need to focus on hitting it hard and get things done. I've found it not only to be freeing, but also much more efficient with my time. Kate also has amazing bonuses and a FB group community where she's active. Overall, listening to this book has been a fabulous experience!

a must for a working mom, great practical advice
I found the beginning a bit of a cringe in places, but so glad I pushed through as I loved this book. the experiments at the end are great bite sized strategies to try.

Actual practical tips AND PDF
I sat listening to this in utter disbelief for the first part- but then hearing about each experiment I became curious. Some of these concepts are wildly unique, others are cliched advice but put in actual practice. The PDF came as such a unique surprise- easily printable and everything she recommends. This book requires nothing other than our willingness to give her action points a try- and understanding the rationale behind them. Highly recommend- especially for mothers!

Total Life Changer!
I first heard Kate speak on the Party in Your Plants podcast several years ago with Talia Pollock. Her idea of scheduling life around your cycle was mind blowing. (Why didn’t anyone else publicly talk about this?! It’s honestly seems like a no-brainer, but I had never heard of it prior to Kate mentioning it. Total life changer!) As a working mom (high school teacher) of two children in elementary school kiddos who tends to live as a perfectionist, Kate’s book is the life medicine I need. It will be one I relishen to and likely even read in paperback.
