About this listen

Don’t Call Me Greta is a poignant story filled with intrigue, adventure, and the struggle of family loyalties.

When the police arrest Piper Winslow’s mother, claiming she stole a newborn infant 17 years ago, Piper is shocked. When she learns she was the baby, her life is destroyed.

Piper’s birth family is about to reclaim her to a life as foreign as the birth name they gave her - Greta. What can Piper do while her world crashes around her? Run, of course.

And run she does. Piper’s plans are nearly foiled when her brother’s annoying best friend joins her. Despite close calls, they elude authorities. All she wants is time to digest her new fate.

Unfortunately, her birth family has unlimited resources, and Piper is discovered. She is delivered to a family with a glowing image, but it turns out not all of them are happy to see her.

As Piper tries to cope in her new world, she hits obstacle after obstacle. This family that appears so perfect on the outside, harbors secrets, and nothing is as it seems....

Will she ever be fully accepted?

Will she ever fit in?

Will they ever stop calling her Greta?

A Must Read! Stolen At Birth Novel

This book was amazing and so hard to put down! It's a story we've all wondered about... a girl stolen at birth and raised by a different family and then found many years later. The insights, twists and turns, and emotional rollercoaster that this tough teen goes through is so well described in this book. I've read other books by this author and loved them too, but this one flew to the top of my list of favorite books. If you liked the summary then don't hesitate to buy or read this book, you won't be disappointed.

The narrator did a great job and I thought she was able to pour the right amount of emotion into it without going over the top. She definitely was fun to listen to and fit the main character.

Parents- This is probably around a PG13 rating. Overall it was pretty clean, no graphic violence or bedroom scenes. There is some romance but it equates to mostly kissing and a couple of make out scenes. The language was fairly clean too but did get a bit heated in a couple scenes and one f-bomb was dropped in this book, but it was in a scene where it made since and wasn't just thrown in for fun or used beyond that.

—I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Don't Call Me Greta Review--Excellent Read!

Loved every minute of this book--and couldn't wait to find out what would happen next! Listened to it on a long road trip, and was almost disappointed to arrive to our destination because I was enjoying it so much and really wanted to see how it was all going to end. Actually left a party early that evening to go home and finish it! Great book for both adults and young adults!

The story we've all wished to know

We follow headlines about babies switched at birth, or of kids abducted and raised by others, or even of children removed from their adoptive families by birth families after court decisions. But we never get to hear about what comes next. This innovative novel by Angie Stanton explores the idea of a young adult finding out she's not who she always believed herself to be. The flow of the story waxes and wanes; far too much time was spent on an extended attempt by Piper/Greta to run away, but all in all it was an engrossing story with a satisfying conclusion. The author kindly gifted me a copy of the audiobook, but I am leaving this review voluntarily and unedited.

Interesting Twists

I loved the twists and the adventure that poor Piper went through. Finding out that you were stolen at birth would cause any teen to go into a tail spin, the author did a great job capturing this throughout the story. Piper proved to be a well rounded and a tough teen, who respects and loves with everything she has. David's character was by far my favorite, he is what EVERYONE should which for in a father and/or father figure. He was Piper's rock through the whole story. The narrator did a good job distinguishing the characters, I felt that she was flat with the emotion that this book should have evoked.

Just imagine...Stolen at birth!

One minute, you're arguing with your mom, the next, the police are taking her away. Telling you, you were stolen as a new born! Hard to believe. Mom wouldn't steal a tomato from a salad bar! (LOL) loved that line. Felt so real! Good read (listen) from start to finish! There were a few times Nicci Hejnar lagged the narration a little. All in all. LOVED IT! Good enough to re-listen to. Enough said. I was asked to listen to this and give my honest review. Honestly. I really loved it!

boring

The narration was so bad. The person reading put emphasis on words in odd spots. Her voice was grating. Kept hoping it would get better. it didn't. Don't waste a credit on this one.
