About this listen

Reluctant single dad. Arrogant villain. Cold-hearted heir. And the enemy of my brothers. I should hate him, so why can’t I stop wanting him?

Hawk McQuaid is not the guy who stays. He doesn’t do relationships. Especially not with the virgin amputee who accidentally became his nanny during an elevator mishap. But he’s wound himself around my heart.

And it’s the last place he should be. He’ll hurt me. It’s not even a question of if, it’s when. Because hearts like his don’t love…they destroy.

Love & Redemption

This was my first book from this author, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a close friend with a prosthetic leg, & thought the issue was accurately addressed in this story.

From family enemies, playboy ways, & secrets to forever soulmates - love wins again!

Connor Crais’ voice can come across as flat & monotone, but it grew on me as the book progressed - & he became Hawk. Rose Dioro impressed me with her interpretation of Addison. I’ll likely listen to other books in the series if I like the narrators.

Hawk and Addy--loved their story

No Small Bet by Samantha Christy was a wonderful story. It was my 1st experience with this author. I found it while searching for books narrated by Connor Crais (he is my favorite). Connor and Rose Dioro (she was a new narrator for me) did a really great job of bringing the characters and all that they feel and experience to life. This story was funny, sad, inspiring, and hopeful. It was definitely worth the purchase. Just a few chapters in, I knew I wanted more of The McQuaid Brothers, so I purchased the 2nd book, No Easy Dare.

No Small Bet

Another wonderful story by Samantha Christy. Love the way characters within her other books are all intertwined together in this one. She is a master storyteller and this book won't disappoint.

An unusual bet

Ermahgawd…I strongly disliked Hawke at the beginning of this book! True trust fund douchecanoe who just ‘loved and leave ‘em’ attitude. When he finds himself the sole parent of a newborn, whom he refuses to acknowledge, it takes a threat and bet from his grandfather for him to ‘man up’. Enter Addy, sister of Hawk’s arch enemy, and one of the sweetest ppl in town. Addy needs a job that will help pay for a new prosthetic and she is sort of bribes into taking the job as nanny to the baby. The baby that Hawk is determined nit to love. Surely Hawk could never redeem himself in my eyes! But as the book goes on, we see the subtle changes in Hawk and we spy an HEA coming. Until he screws up. I actually rooted for him in the end!! Loved the HEA!! Looking forward to the next book.

Awesome book

this was the first audible book I had ever listened to, and frankly I wasn't sure that I would like the transition from written word. the voice actors for absolutely amazing and I could run the picture scenario in my head of everything that was going on. Hawk and Addie and Rivi came to life as believable people. this book is so well written that I could identify with everyone; especially Addie, since due to a birth defectI have to wear braces and crutches to walk. I'm now going to look up and see if this author wrote any other books and I will buy them all.

AMAZING!!

Loved this book so much I just had to have it in audio. This book was so much more than I expected. I was absolutely blown away and my heart was a pile of mush. These two sucked me in from start to finish with their heart stopping chemistry that was OFF THE CHARTS and their banter was down right hysterical. I couldn’t wait for Addy to pull back all of Hawks bad boy walls and boy when she did was it explosive!!! I absolutely adored Addy. Her strength and determination to live her life to the fullest no matter her circumstances was aw inspiring. She is the true definition of a rockstar. Hawk was a man of mystery and I was here for it. I wanted all the details that summed up Hawk McQuaid. I couldn’t help but root for their HEA.

Wonderful story

Hawk is a playboy and has no desire to be in a relationship. Well surprise! He is, just not the type you think. In comes Addie who loves him, helps him grow and wakes him up to the beauty of love.

Nice book

This book was a nice story, not stellar or anything, but the love story is “nice.”
Most of the sexy times take place behind closed doors, but the ones we do hear about are well written.

The narrators do a great job though.
