About this listen

A young woman living in a fantasy role-playing game finds herself caught up in political intrigue in this epic LitRPG adventure for Dungeons & Dragons fans.

Adjusting to life in the magical realm of Latora hasn't been easy for Kandis Hammond. The twenty-four-year-old was plucked from her life in Sydney, Australia, and tossed into the Great Game without even a thread of clothing. But she's managed to survive the real-life role-playing game, gaining experience points and leveling up. Now she has a team of adventuring companions, and she's even become Councillor of the thriving frontier town of Talnier.

With her charisma and charm abilities, Kandis is a natural politician. She's been selected to travel to the royal palace in Dorsay to have the king confirm Talnier's charter. So, with her fellow adventurers by her side, she begins her journey to the capital.

But while it sounds like a simple diplomatic trip, Kandis has managed to gain a few enemies during her brief time in Latora. And one—if not all—of them would be more than happy to ensure she never returns home . . .

The third volume of the hit LitRPG fantasy series—with more than 600,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Great series

This series is fantastic. There are countless books with an MC that is reluctant to engage in violence and death. This one is unique in how that is dealt with and even more so in the growth and advancement of the MC. Each book has been better than the previous one; I can't wait for the next.

Good characters and a nice story which doesn’t overly focus on combat

It’s enjoyable to read a story in this genre which doesn’t overly focus on combat. That being said this entry was a bit slower than the previous ones, although the writing continued to improve. I look forward to the next one.

Great progression arcs and characters

I'm hooked on this story. Candice and the other champions we've spent time with are interesting, flawed, likeable characters. There's still some dangling plot threads, a few champions we haven't met, and a brewing plot against Talnier and Candice, but this book, like the other two, has a satisfying ending. The narrator is fantastic.

Not your typical Mc

Mc makes sound choices through out the book. She plays to her strengths. I really enjoy that she is not a jack of all trades but instead is a master of a few.

good but hits my biggest peeve poison ignorance

all venom and drugs are poison! venom is a vector definition only and drugs... ever heard of alcohol poisoning? heck radiation is a poison or anything that chemically harms a body is poison, like lead poisoning.
