Publisher's summary

The ancient prophecy speaks of the five, those who will come to save all of dragonkind. Like most prophecies, it leaves out a lot of the important details. The very ordinary elf girl who runs for the hills - and gets lost in a forest instead. The dragon egg, precariously perched high in a tree on a dark winter's night. And what happens when egg meets girl.

I loved this audio book!

I read this complete series and loved it, so then bought the audio book. The series is charming and this first book sets the stage. This author has a beautiful way of creating characters who are heart centered, empathetic and resilient. A sweet aside is that this is the first published work Audrey Faye co-wrote with her daughter, Shae Geary. The narrator is awesome and easy to listen to. Since I have already read the book/s I like to listen to a few chapters begore bed! A bedtime story for grownups!

Short!

This was a good book, but it was really short. There is a lot of missed opportunity through the book where you are jumped days or even years ahead. there isn't much character building through the book besides the intro and then the darkest feelings the next time the character is introduced. This book was good, but could have been so much better. The story is also short and it doesn't leave you with any suspense or hints for the next book. You could finish this book and only be slightly curious about the next book because almost nothing is revealed. "There is a plot and that's all you need to know" is how it is layed out for the reader, but overall it was bad, good 5 hour burner.
