About this listen

Corporal David Cohen thought he’d left war behind.

He was wrong.

The Terran Coalition faces repeated and brutal attacks from the repressive League of Sol. To defend his home planet, David trades his dream of becoming a rabbi for a battlefront in the far reaches of space. When particle beams fly, his courage under fire brings quick promotion. But in the lulls between battles when he must confront his soul, David finds a different enemy: the ghosts of those killed under his command.

Yet in war, it’s kill or be killed - and the enemy shows no mercy.

David must square the tenets of his faith against his responsibility to crew and country. If he fails in his command, billions face enslavement by a ruthless regime. Now it’s an all-out fight for the galaxy’s freedom.

Because a man’s greatest foe lies within.

If you love Babylon 5, Safehold, and Destroyermen, you must try Echoes of War, a military sci-fi series that will take you to the heart of duty, sacrifice, and the unseen scars of those who serve.

Includes the first three novels in the Echoes of War series:

  • Fight the Good Fight
  • Strong and Courageous
  • So Fight I

Religious focus adds to story

Given a religious element to most characters it adds a belief system and the inevitable moral struggles concerning a war. The story line is good but the enemy is presented as a one dimensional cartoon like character. Good verses evil is never that simplistic. The protagonists are better developed. The action is good and the introduction of technologies and truly alien races are interesting but also often one dimensional.

Great story

I loved this story, especially the add of the religious elements, as a minister it was great to see a space based story that focused on the truth of faith.

WHAT A GREAT STORY

For God, comrades and countries. Damn the torpedoes full light speed ahead. This is one of the best series I have ever read/listened before. The characters are well developed and easy to love and hate. It is reminiscent of classic sea warfare and modern day battle. The military science fiction genre is better for having Daniel write these stories. I can’t wait for the rest of the Echoes of War!!! Don’t let this box set get away you won’t regret it.

good listen, thought provoking

In the narrow category of military science fiction with a religious focus, this is a (the?) good entry. Looking forward to more books.

Amazing start in the series!!!

If you are a BELIEVER, this series is a must. The sad thing is, if you look at the world around us and what is happening now, this series makes you think. I love this series and can't wait till the rest come out.

Too preachy

Great story, but too much time spent moralizing. With that said, the author accurately portrays the theology of both Judaism and Christianity.

Just couldn’t get into it.

I really enjoyed the book “Fight the Good Fight,” but I can’t honestly say that I am enjoying this one. The author lost me when he added a group of fighting nuns. It just seemed too unbelievable to me. The best part of this particular book is the outstanding job of narrating done by Jeffrey Kafer. Other than that, I am disappointed by this book. But perhaps others will enjoy the idea of nun combatants....

Finally a new series I can let the boys read

So tired of the homo manic immoral crap that seems to be the norm now a days. The realities of war and the effects are metaphysical there’s a reason they used to say there’s no atheists in a fox hole. First book I’ve read that actually explore what happens in the minds of men as they pull a trigger and live with the consequences. If the author never lived with this reality he caught much of its reality.
