About this listen

Some choices change lives. Other choices define them.

Damien Montgomery is as much a nobody as a Mage of the star-spanning Protectorate of Mars can be. Trained as a Jump Mage, one of the elite who teleport ships across interstellar space, he lacks the connections to find a ship that will take him.

Until pirates and politics strand Captain David White of the jump freighter Blue Jayin his home system. The two men's matching needs birth a choice and a partnership that will take them from high-end orbitals to prisons to alien graveyards in forgotten star systems.

In the shadows of the Protectorate, Damien is faced with a simple question: who is he in the dark?

In celebration of the tenth anniversary of the first Starship’s Mage novel, Glynn Stewart is proud to bring you this new revised edition. Please note that while this edition has been edited and revised for clarity, the story and events remain the same.

Fantastic new edition of a classic Glynn Stewart work

This new edition & re-recording of the 1st Starship mage novel from a collections of novella’s into a distinct single work is a both a fantastic start for those new to Starships Mage & a joy for long time fans of the series.

The character development is refined, stage setting precise & duplication from the novella format removed.

Well worth a listen for anyone looking for a new series that has it all.

I used to love it, now it sucks.

I used to love this book. I'd listen to it multiple times a year and would fall back in love with the starships mage universe each time. Now, now I can't do that anymore. Glynn "remastered" this book and butchered it. Some main characters are now uncharacteristically weak and useless in scenes where they used to be strong and confident. It does nothing but make me hate characters I used to love.

Now, instead of being happy to listen to a favorite story, I find myself wondering why I should even continue listening.

The old one was better.
