About this listen

Single dad. Firefighter. Hero.

On the heels of divorce, Lt. Brett Cash never expected to meet the woman of his dreams. Especially not during a robbery gone bad. But just because she's the woman of his dreams does not mean he's the man of hers.

Emma is a child of a 9/11 hero taken far too soon. And she's not about to let her own daughter go through the same hell she did. Not even for...well, let's face it, the man of her dreams. Because, the last thing Emma Lockhart needs, or wants, is a hero.

Loved Lt Cash’s story-however Emma was a bit much. I have to agree with other reviewers regarding her repeated cold then hot antics and Brett’s patience with her. The girl seriously needed to see a therapist, preferably before meeting the sexy lieutenant! However the story had a great ending and I loved the epilogue. The running theme of the book “everything happens for a reason” was pretty cool and overall an amazing tribute to our 9/11 heroes and those they left behind.

SHOULD’VE BEEN TITLED ENDURING EMMA

I had originally read the book when it came out. That was several years ago so I thought it would be fun to listen to it. It was just as good as reading it. The conflict that Emma had over becoming involved with a fireman and what it happened to her father when she was youngshowed the fear that she had. getting over it would be hard. It was a good storyline that moved along at a good pace and I like the characters. I believe this was the first series by this author that I read and I enjoyed all three books.

The love they had for each other

Grab a box of Kleenex because you will need them !Brett is an amazing dad and firefighter being there for others is his thing, but Emma is very independent and afraid to take the risk! This book is very sexy and will having you listening every chance you get! What a fantastic story to conclude the men on fire series!! Erin and Teddy did an amazing job once again!

incredible!!

I find it hard to listen to his story, the female narrator is way over the top. If it wasn't for Teddy Hamilton, I would probably not finish it. I still do not get why the don't have the narrators do all male and female parts. There should be no reason that they can't go back and forth to male and female. Hearing the female to the male voice during a sexy scene, is totally off putting. Especially since Teddy Hamilton's voice is so a-luring, I pick stories with as the narrator just to hear his voice.

“Fear is no reason to forgo happiness.” Words to live by, but are easier said than done. Emma has been through a lot and has to overcome it. She thinks she doesn’t need another hero in her life, but Brett wants to be the one to change that. Brett and Emma are kindred spirits in my opinion. Samantha brings all the feels in this sweet and spicy conclusion to The Men on Fire series. Erin and Teddy did a fantastic job!

Just when I fell in love with the first two books in this series, Christy tops it off with Brett Cash. First of all I can see why some readers would be frustrated with Emma, but if you consider the loss of her father and tie that in with the heart pounding beginning, Emma has experienced more than any normal person would experience in one lifetime. These two characters have experienced the same life altering loss, if you can can get past Emma’s issues then it really does make for a really beautiful love story. Sure I wish Brett was tougher on her but when she finally came to her senses it was worth the wait. The chemistry between them was off the charts...10x hotter than the first 2 books. What an awesome end to this series! I’m excited to see what’s next from Christy!

Saved the best for last!!!

Audiobook review. Book three in The Men on Fire trilogy. Content warnings: robbery then hostage situation with a gun shot victim in a school; references to losses and PTSD from 9/11; other woman drama; fires.

Brett is a single father of a two year old son and a firefighter. Emma is a single mother of a twelve year old daughter and a teacher. My previous reviews have all disappeared. JP
