About this listen

Being a single dad was not on my short-list of life plans. Especially since I didn't know my daughter existed.

Now, I'm not only juggling all that goes with having a four-year-old, I'm also trying to provide my daughter the skills to communicate her needs.

I'm failing. Epically.

I need big help with this small person.

The woman assigned as my daughter’s mentor is a dream come true. Right up until she accuses me of neglect. Dr. Ellie Stone is fierce and determined and understands my daughter in a way I can’t.

It’s not long before I come to realize I might not be able to do this without her. What’s more… I don’t think I want to.

Because not only is Ellie perfect for my daughter, she’s perfect for me.

Her drive to protect people in need has me falling for her. It also puts a target on her back.

But the beautiful doctor is not the only one with a protective nature.

And I’ll end anyone who tries to take her from me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~There may be topics in this novel that would be upsetting or painful for some. For a full list of TWs see the author's website.

I absolutely LOVE this story! Samantha Christy is the BEST (and all the like: finest, outstanding, perfect, etc.) at writing these emotional novels and fantastic characters/families. The narration is spot on!

I loved this book! The story is heartwarming, a little spicy, and has some scary drama thrown in to make it good.

I appreciated the research Christy did on the Deaf community and D/deaf education. I felt like she did a good job with her character representations in a fictional story.

Erin Mallon is one of my favorite narrators, she was amazing, as usual

Love this story!

I’m so glad I listened to this book. I haven’t had much dealing with the deaf community. I see it very differently now. The book was great. The narration was fantastic too. Thank you

I love the entire story I know there has to be an antagonist but in the end I loved it.

A man learning he had a daughter

This is a beautiful story of love that goes so much deeper than most stories. The way these two (plus the daughter) become a family is simply perfect.

Beautiful story

This was a beautiful story. I love that the author clearly did her research on the deaf community. That there was so much depth to the characters and the relationship. The only thing that ruined it for me was the depth of hesitancy with the FMC I just wish authors could write more stories where the characters talk openly about their feelings and work thru hurdles like adults. That element really ruins a good story for me.

A lot to like
