THE SUNDAY TIMES TOP TEN BESTSELLER

A heartbreaking memoir from a girl who escaped county line trafficking only to become prey to other abusers…

Emily has always felt like an outsider, so when a family friend takes her under his wing she is delighted. But soon it becomes clear that his motives are not all they seem.

At the age of 11, Emily is groomed into being a ‘county lines’ drug trafficker. It is the beginning of a vicious cycle that sees her become prey to one abuser after another, involving a huge child-sex-trafficking gang.

The scale of the abuse – at the hands of hundreds of men – is sickening, and at times it feels like there will never be an escape. But then, in the darkest of moments, a ray of light shines …

This is the moving true story of how one girl overcame her traumatic past and learned to love for the very first time.

Difficult content awaits

This book is good the way a horror movie is good.

Unfortunately I can't say much more without criticizing the author. It's the classic debate of when does one go from adolescence to assuming responsibility.

Good book but needs younger voice.

The book is worth getting. Really about trafficking, not drugs, but her reliance on getting drugs resulted in trafficking.
The narrator was easy to understand but her voice was too old for the book.

Great story of survival and change

The narrator Was just unbearable!! I kept with it because I was invested in this story of grooming, abuse, addiction and survival.

SA is never easy to discuss let alone share with the world. The bravery it took to put this story out there is very inspiring. Maybe one day I will tell mine.

I can relate to the internal struggles that the author battles with herself and the life she was caught up in.

And I can appreciate her strength to turn her life around!

Strength in Numbers

Your drive to survive brings me to tears. So many victims of abuse & the only way to make change in our world is to UNITE … to SPEAK UP & to ask for HELP! Our world needs to be AWARE of this CRIME & to PUNISH the predator. Your words & strength ignite me not only as a SURVIVOR but in other life situations! You have found the SILVER-LINING & I am humbled & Grateful for your words!

misleading title

I found the title to be misleading as to be enslaved means to take away someone's freedom. I do not feel as if that is applicable for this story. Other than that I found this to be very detailed account of how impressionable young girls can be and how easily they can fall victim to the evils of adults. It is a very viscous cycle once you enter into the drug world of adults and these children really get pulled into the abyss of it all. It is already a difficult time in a young girls life . . . those preteen and teen years can be so awkward and hard to navigate and if even just 1 adult in your life wantsl to manipulate you - then it is very easy to fall prey to many after that.
Very sad story. I'm glad she is trying to work to make the world a safer place for children.

How do you spell to get through.

The repetition of each chapter made the book seem so much longer. I was left, always longing for the main character to learn from past situations to always be let down and very frustrated.

Infuriating

I’m not sure which aggravated me the most, the whiny narrator, or the author completely absolving herself of all culpability regarding her repeatedly and willfully making terrible choices after her initial abuse. She gets SA’d by every single male she encounters? But keeps choosing to put herself back into the same exact t situations time and again. I don’t understand calling the “business” she thought was a brilliant idea and willfully chose (not forced) to go into, to do exactly what she knew she would be doing “abuse”. Come on. Yes, some abuse happened. The rest was a choice and she was in control of choosing.
