About this listen

A survey crew of the human starship Geoffrey Laird lands on a small, unexplored planet quaintly named Fleece as part of a standard scientific mission. The planet looks benign, but a small mix-up with "hostile life-forms" has the three surviving members of the team on the run. Drik, Max, and Laree seek shelter in a small cave, completely cut off from their ship and communications. But it turns out the cave is anything but small.

Kodo, frozen in stasis for almost 1,000 years, awakens to find everything he knew is gone. His fellow crewmembers are dead, his ship is a wreck, and his homeworld is gone. Only one other member of the crew survives - Kalaya, the Aurora's synthetic organism. Now, on top of it all, humans are on his ship! Humans, the universe's newest addition to deep space-faring races and a complete embarrassment to the galactic community, are on his ship. Could this get any worse? Yes, it can.

Follow Kodo, Laree, and friends on their mission to escape Fleece and the human military eager to capture their ship. A mission filled with danger, laughter, spiteful hamsters, and sentient BLT sandwiches? Game show hosts? Space crickets?

This is a light science fiction novel; if you are looking for discussions on quantum theory, then this is not the book for you.

Great book, I enjoyed the story.

Maybe just a tiny bit predictable but altogether a good story. The characters to love and hate .

Ok

A little bit to much drama for my taste but a good book nonetheless. .

Truly worth the time

Where does Errant Contact rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among the better audiobooks

Have you listened to any of Greg Tremblay’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This, I believe is my first encounter with Greg"s narrations. I look forward to hearing more from him.

Any additional comments?

For me it took a little while to get into the story. I thought the very beginning was a little rough to get through. But once I got past the first chapter, wow, I was quickly drawn in, and found one of those stories that's hard to break away from. I look forward to more stories from Mr Ford. If they turn out as good as this one, he will have a great career.

This was a funny and captivating story.

I can't wait to hear more! A fun sci-fi read that has all the elements of a story for this genre, without the hard to follow lingo.

I don't think that some of the reviews are very fair. This was a great listen and would recommend it!!

Give us another one

I never listen to space stories, but found this dimond hidden in Greg Tremblays collections and though: "Lets do it".
Best desition of the week, loved the story and charachters. They were all so different and Greg gave them all life and stole my heart in the progress. I usually dont like female mc, they tend to be ladies in distress or overly super, but for once I really liked Laree. She was a strong charachter without the usuall distress or super macho that people go for. She felt like a human you can relate to.
I really loved the story and the narration only made it better, so if you want a good space adventure, get this one! Cant recommend it enought! :)
