About this listen

4 Volumes for a single offering!

Aliens ripped a hole above Earth, arriving with a massive space station. I sorta figured we'd be enslaved to fight in their wars or exterminated for our resources. Nope. The hip-high Iglax were merchants with ugly squished faces and thick blue fur. While they weren't much to look at, they sure did have some wonderous technology.

Humanity bent over backwards to appease our new merchant overlords. The boorish aliens wanted cheap labor for precious metals, and honestly, I didn't blame anyone for their hunger to be among the stars.

For certain rare metals or special gems, they'd trade tech we could only fathom as magic. Me, I pawned a few things, made some money, then hunkered down to study to prove my worth.

The aliens tested humans on an individual basis for miner rentals. Do well on your pilot test, get a spaceship, sign up with a corp, and you can mine the belt. For a puddle-jumper pilot like me, yeah, I was so interested I became obsessed. When I finally tested, I performed above and beyond, being offered a contract for some better than a miner - Earth's First Starfighter.

Great story!

loved the plot and story development, minor criticism on female VO, biggest issue was during voice editing. some lines were omitted others mis-timed and in one occasion Male and female VO lines were edited on top of each other.

The series got off to a little bit of a slow start, but it was worth it.

Any sci-fi fan will appreciate this series. There's enough twist and turns that is not classically predictable like so many others.
The characters are interesting. While they take a while to develop and the story does get off to a slow start in the first book the entire storyline builds and will draw your attention in. The voices of the narrators portray the characters very well and while it appears that the story does come to a conclusion after a book 4, I would be interested to see where they could take the storyline.

If you love SciFi, listen to this book/ series

Great series well told and narrated! All four books exceeded my expectations! Voices are good and I had issues putting down the phone I use to listen.

Real Speak!

The raw language was a great twist to many other Sci-Fi books. I have to admit I was a little taken aback at first but it complimented the story well.

Great story some tech issues

The story was very good. Narration was very good. There are a few editing issues. Not very many though. A few lines are repeated and one instance where two different lines between the two narrators overlap.

When's the movie?!

Damn. THAT was a helluva story- start to finish.
A few audio glitches present in the series- annoying, yet the story was so very well done it seemed just a passing bump to accept and ignore. Sci-Fi at its most creative; exceptionally well-written; non-stop action with enough character development to be just right, but not turn it into a drama. This series would be awesome as a movie franchise- if you're a sci-fi fan, don't miss this one!

Sci-fi at its finest

This quadrilogy has a bit of everything that makes a series worth listening/reading. Space battles that have you hanging on to the edge of your seat. A bit of love, without being straight up erotica. Lose of great friends and family, but the warmth of building a new ones.
