About this listen

A bride's dream honeymoon becomes a nightmare when a man with whom she's had a regrettable one-night stand shows up in this electrifying psychological thriller from the acclaimed author of Eight Perfect Murders.

Abigail Baskin never thought she'd fall in love with a millionaire. Then she met Bruce Lamb. He's a good guy, stable, level-headed, kind—a refreshing twist from her previous relationships.

But right before the wedding, Abigail has a moment of uncertainty. The drunken one-night stand from her bachelorette weekend, the sexy guy who wouldn't give her his real name, didn't really mean anything, she keeps telling herself. She puts the incident out of her mind, and now believes she wants to be with Bruce for the rest of her life. Their honeymoon on a luxurious, secluded island in Maine will be the beginning of their blissful lives together.

Then the mysterious stranger suddenly appears—and Abigail's future life and happiness are turned upside down. He insists that their passionate night was the beginning of something much, much more. Something special. Something real—and he's tracked her down to prove it.

Does she tell Bruce and ruin their idyllic honeymoon—and possibly their marriage? Or should she handle this psychopathic stalker on her own? To make the situation worse, strange things begin to happen. She sees a terrified woman in the night shadows, and no one at the resort seems to believe anything is amiss . . . including her perfect new husband.

It kept me on intrigued and I kept expecting it to be one big joke... nope! I wish she would've ended up with someone who she could have trusted.

Weird, but perhaps that is good?!

I’m a bit disappointed by the rushed end. I felt like after finishing the book there was a missing plot. The story built up so well only to end pretty suddenly.

Held my attention from beginning to the end! I would recommend it. All of the men in the audible version sound a like .

Good Read

The story was fine, but definitely not one of his best. I also felt the narrator spoke too whispery the entire time. It felt hard to listen to.

Not my favorite of Peter Swanson’s

This story was a slow burn, and had several very obvious "twists". I did end up liking it and thr pace the last 2 hours was good and kept me wanting to listen on.

Better than I expected

Peter Swanson is an automatic buy his book and read it. I don't need to read the synopsis to consider whether to buy or not. Just dive into the book and read it. "Every Vow You Break" is yet another good example of why am a fan.

I only preferred the first half of this book to the second. The narrative was smoother, where we get to know Abigail, her family, friends, and a glimpse of her past, then her meeting with wealthy Bruce, the engagement and bachelorette weekend where she met this guy she called, Scotty that she spent the night with him, a mistake she will regret later.
The second part after the wedding and the honeymoon on this remote island took a different direction, this is where strange things start to happen, including that Scotty showing up on the island and wanted her to be with him and leave her newly husband Bruce. The narrative took a different shape from smooth easy telling to fast-paced action, which somehow made me feel a bit over the edge.

Overall, the experience was good, I enjoyed 80% of it very much, and the other 20% was Okay!

I sure will be looking for Peter Swanson's new book next year. An auto-read.

I normally can tell what the ending is/who did it by the The first quarter of the book. This one I was totally surprised it took me to almost the end to figure it out.

Interesting!

A ok listen.Story kind of lame.Figured it out early on. However, it was quick and didn't have to put much thought into it.

Unpredictable, well written. Narration was awesome. This is a book definitely worth the credit/money.

Great story! Great narration!

What a great concept and the story has so much potential. I would have been okay if it went a little darker and grittier I was a little let down by the ending but I stilled liked this book a lot. Love the narrator she’s one of my favorites. Also I wish there really was a place with all those amenities like heart pond island had.

Pretty good
