An opening chapter you won't stop talking about. The twisty, gripping psychological thriller you won't be able to pause.
You went to bed at home, just like every other night.
You woke up in the back of a taxi, over 250 miles away.
You have no idea how you got there and no memory of the last 10 hours. You have no phone, no money, just a suicide note in your coat pocket, in your own writing.
You know you weren't planning to kill yourself. Your family and friends think you are lying. Someone knows exactly what happened to you. But they're not telling....

Gaslighting: The Book

I think, I was most frustrated that she just could not put two and two together. I just wanted to scream at the main character. I would get annoyed and stop listening for a couple of days. The foreshadowing happened way too early in the book, and it was too much. There was a small twist at the end, but not enough to redeem the writing.

Engrossing - I could not stop until it was done. How did Sally get in the cab and on the cliffs at Cornwall? Who hates her and wants to ruin her life? Everyone and no one is suspect. I will admit that I did not like Sally. She really was too dumb to breathe. I thought her parenting skills were stupid. She let two children rule her life. I never did figure what "sleep training" was for the baby, Theo, and why she did not just go ahead and train the baby instead of having to wait a month. She seemed to run her husband ragged and acted as if she were the only woman in the world to have two children to take care of. Good grief, she was a stay at home mom. Surely she could have managed better than she did. But I still felt bad for her because of the cab to Cornwall incident and no one believing she was NOT lying and was not trying to kill herself. I also felt sorry for Sally because her brother was marrying a real witch. I was frustrated for Sally because she was so mistreated by others..I was kept guessing from beginning to the end. I kind of thought who might be the villain and I was almost right. This is not great literature, but it is an engrossing and entertaining story. The narrator was very good and I liked her accent and the British phrases she read.
