About this listen

A series of seemingly motiveless murders of supernatural creatures points to a vigilante targeting the supe community of Scranton. Markowski wouldn’t normally have much of a problem with that, but his daughter may be next on the killer’s list...

Justin Gustainis was born in Northeast Pennsylvania in 1951. He attended college at the University of Scranton, a Jesuit university that figures prominently in several of his writings. He is currently a Professor of Communication at Plattsburgh State University. His popular series of urban fantasy novels featuring investigator Quincey Morris include Evil Ways, Black Magic Woman and the forthcoming Sympathy for the Devil.

Oh, Dear - what on earth??

Again, an entertaining book, enjoyable plot, interesting premise. But, really, why on earth would an FBI agent sound like Natasha from The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show? If you can get past the, shall we say 'unique,' narration, this would be worth listening to, but I'm not wasting any more credits.

amazing book but very minor issues.

other then small editorial errors in the reading causing the same sentence to be repeated this book is amazing. absolutely phenomenal. lives up to the first book perfectly. Peter brook honestly is an amazing reader also and I don't think they could have chose a better person to bring Carl and Stan to life

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THESE BOOKS!

Trust me. Get these books! You won't regret it! This author nails the characters. I am in love with the main character 😍 And the narrator is by far one of the best I have ever heard!

The narrator made it sound like a cartoon

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. I did get through it but it wasn't easy. The narrator ruined it. It sounded like a Saturday cartoon. He didn't differentiate voices very well and did not do women well. I was hoping for a Dresden type book.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I am thinking of steering away from paranormal towards basic mystery.

How could the performance have been better?

He just was not suited for the story.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.

Any additional comments?

Honestly there might have been potential in the story, it couldn't hold my attention so I don't know.
