About this listen

An unstoppable curse. A dead man displaced from his time. How do you survive the zombie apocalypse when you started it?

Digby Graves, a deceased medieval peasant with delusions of grandeur, is trying to figure out how the hell he ended up in Seattle eight hundred years after his death. Also, why does he have necrotic magic coursing through his zombified body? Added to that is the fact that he made a terrible first impression the moment he woke up by lunging at the first person that came into biting range.

Now, the curse he unleashed is loose in the world. Digby has a target on his back and only fragmented memories of his death. He needs to survive long enough to put the pieces back together, learn what it means to lead the horde, and master his power over the dead. Digby might even find a few accomplices along the way, if he can hold off on eating them.

The end of the world is gonna get weird.

Because I'm raving---ness about this book!!!

What happens when a frozen medieval mage turned zombie thaws out in the city of present day Seattle? A necromancer that not only has to adjust to his new power but also adjust to the new world he's awoke into. If the 10th Doctor was a bit unpredictable and a little more dead... I think it would be the best way to describe Digby. He's loveably charming and socially oblivious. I for one am pretty picky about my zombie content and this is certainly a new approached to apocalypse stories and necromancy. Shall I say I DIG this story and am ravenous for more.

A great mash of genres

Main character is a hilarious, and actually has character development, which a lot of lit rpgs ignore all together. can’t wait for the next book!

zombie..litrpg? amazing!!!

I know what some you are thinking, "not for me", but trust me by the 5th chapter you'll be hooked. I've listened to hundreds of the fantasy/litrpg/zombie fun books, and yes, they can all blend together, but this series is different. it has a MC that you simultaneously want to hate and see fail and also want him to succeed, due to his loveable nature.
just give 5 chapters, and you don't feel the same you can always get your credit back, but you'll keep this book.

one of the better litrpg books i've listened to.

Obviously the performance of Travis Baldree, Sage of a Thousand Words, elevates every work. That being said, the book holds it's own. As with any litrpg, there is the tedious reading and re-reading of stat blocks and skill descriptions, but that's part of it I suppose.

Fun story

I had a lot of fun with this book. The story is great. the characters are interesting. definitely worth a read if you want a different take on lit RPGs where the main character actually has to figure out how to utilize their powers to affect things in different ways
