Publisher's summary

“Where were you, God? I can't see your hand in my story. Have you ever really shown up for me? Your heart might be good, but just not to me.”

If you've thought these things, you aren't alone. Author and speaker Alexandra Hoover has been in that dark place too. In her debut book, Eyes Up, she reveals that God offers a clear way out—by getting your eyes off your surroundings and raising them up to the Ebenezer-stone moments in your life. Ebenezer stone by Ebenezer stone, God did this for Alexandra, helping her trace his grace. He lifted her eyes to see the places He had met her and helped her along, even in the darkest parts of the story, and on top of that, He casted vision for her mission and purpose as a member of His family. And now, in Eyes Up, you can experience the very same thing as you learn to:

  • Chart your own Ebenezer-journey with God, stone by stone.
  • Learn how to embrace God's sovereignty in every twist and turn of your life.
  • Enjoy the gift of confident faith, no matter what part of the story you face today.
  • Walk away with your own clear testimony of God’s faithfulness in your life to share with others who need help and faith right now.
  • Understand your place in God's family and His mission for your life.

Are you ready to finally see God's hand at work in countless moments that lay behind you—and more than that, trust His heart and see His vision for the moments ahead? Then look up with Alexandra to the Ebenezer stones that God has not only built in your story, but wants to use in mighty, missional ways.

Good book but not great narration

I really liked the premise of the book and it had some good insight, but it sounded like she was on the verge of tears through most of the book. I think I would have gotten more out of it by reading it rather than listening to it. It was distracting how she read this.

This book hit close to home

I was in a dark fog trying to find God. I was praying constantly and couldn’t figure out what was going on until now… He revealed my purpose and I didn’t need to compare my life to others! Its all a learning journey and by marking our Ebenzers like Alexandra said it helps us see God has been with us the whole entire time! He never left us so we can keep focusing our eyes on Him. So grateful for Alexandra writing this book. Now I understand what God is telling me to do…

You can actually feel the emotions of the narrator. That’s because she wrote this book.

I could not stop listening to this book!
I spent the entire day listening to this book. It was 99° outside and I wasn’t going out because it was 99° outside.
Once I started listening to this book, there was no stopping!
It was absolutely, emotional, incredible and a beautiful piece of writing. I have never been moved by a book like I was moved, by this book, You could feel her pain her joy and her sorrow,
I could feel every single emotion as I was listening to this book. The tears were rolling down my face at times because I could sense and feel her pain through her voice about her father-in-laws sudden passing.
It reminded me of so many similar things that happened to Me, In my own life.
This young lady is a star in the making and I believe she will be a humble star, because she is a person of very strong faith. She has taken on this as not only a writing project, but as an art project, as well!
Alexandria is a very special young lady. Also, her writing and her narrating her own book just makes it more special and more believable and you WILL feel the emotions.
I promise you! You will be missing out on a masterpiece if you do not partake in this book!!
Do not miss this. It is incredibly authentic and it will move you.
I give you my word!!
God Bless,
Uncle Kenny

It was meh…

I was excited to read (listen) to this book. I had begun following the author on IG and really connected with some of her posts. Overall, there were some great points and teachings, as well as great use of scripture to support her points. However, after a while I was left feeling like it wasn’t quite as “deep” as I was hoping for. She told stories of her own life and her so called “stones”, but I found them hard to connect with. There seemed to be a lot of “fluff”. The references to “charting your stones” and “finding your Ebenezer” and this stone and that stone…became a bit much. Towards the end she referred to people as stones which confused me further. Overall, I took aways some encouragement here and there and certainly did some self reflection, so that’s great.

Why is she so emotional?

I couldn’t handle the narration. She sounded like she was near tears the entire book and it was so hard to connect with. She wanted us to learn these deal impactful lessons but gave almost none of her personal story away which made her really hard to connect with
