About this listen

Christian Book Award - Finalist 2022 (print)!!

Discover the bottomless, refreshing Well of God’s Word―and experience a fullness and peace beyond your circumstances.

In the chaos of our everyday, it can be difficult to live out and apply the truths of Scripture. We want more of Jesus, but we find ourselves looking to our own lives and accomplishments for our worth and identity. And while that may buoy us for a time, we’re often left feeling dried up, discouraged, and longing for more.

Gretchen Saffles knows what it’s like to feel overwhelmed and unable to flourish. In The Well-Watered Woman, Gretchen leads us to the Well of fullness, the Word of freedom, and the Way of fruitfulness. She teaches that God’s Word will satisfy us for all eternity.

Using Scripture and her own personal story of surrender, Gretchen offers spiritually hungry women tangible tools to not only know Jesus more but to live a life that thoroughly enjoys Him, seeks Him, and follows Him into freedom.

Nourishment for a tired woman's soul

This book touched on a number of tender issues and acted like a soothing balm, coating them with God's gentle, kind reminders that can be found throughout His Word. Thank you Gretchen for putting it all in one precious read.

Crappy Christian Podcast brought me here!

So thankful Blake spoke to the amazing author on her podcast or I would’ve never found this! I absolutely love listening as she really digs into what a well-watered woman really is and has stirred my mind with the Word of God.

Great and inspiring! Might be better consumed in print though. Better way to absorb the content.

Better than the world’s “self care”

I left the new age and used to teach the worldly concept of self care. When I came to God & He changed my heart, none of the secular inspirational content felt right anymore. I also sought answers for just how filled I now feel as a born again Christian, compared with the momentary pleasures of my epicurean past. I wanted to know how to keep that closeness with God. This book was a breath of fresh air as a newer believer. Gretchen is honest, raw and real about our human hearts as women and the gardening analogies she gave helped me understand our Lord and myself even better. If you’re looking for direction as a new believer or encouragement in a dry season, or just something pleasant to listen to akin to your bestie inspiring you to deepen your relationship with God - read this book. I listened chapter-by-chapter and didn’t want to press pause (except to take some notes or look up a verse she quoted).
