A lost, bedraggled stranger walks up to large animal vet Dr. Joshanne Ryan's cabin on Carson Hill Ranch in the middle of the night. Romney Jens has been wandering for three days since his car broke down, and Joshanne knew she couldn't just send him on his way. A Contemporary Cowboy Romance Novel

In this 9th book in the Carson Hills Ranch series their large animal vet meets a stranger that staggers to her cabin after his car breaks down. This stranger just happens to be an astronomy professor. Will these two well educated people drive each other crazy or will love sneak up and surprise them. The listener will have other mysteries to help sole too.



The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Carina Kretschmer's voice was right for the story.

Each episode of this family saga keeps me engaged. This one in particular had my interest, the research ranch and taking care of sick animals has always been a passion of mine. Growing up on a small farm, there was always an animal that needed care. Joshanne in this story, has such passion for her job, keeping the livestock for the Carson Ranch healthy and trying to determine the cause of disease for the cows is a full time job. Romney wanders on the ranch when his car breaks down. As an astronomer, he doesn't have a clue about ranch life. This odd couple is so perfect, the way they banter and learn from each other is endearing. As always, we do get to see other members of the family, giving us the feel of community and love.

Carina Kretschmer is the narrator for this book, and though I had never heard her before, she has a very good voice for the western romance.
