About this listen

Just when everything seems perfect… the enemy strikes.

After the defeat of Charles Fraction, things are going well for Matthew Riker. His relationship with Jessica has never been stronger, he has a team he can trust, and QS-4 is focused on making the world a better place.

But when Riker and his team take a seemingly simple job to hand off a briefcase in a luxury hotel in Monaco, he finds himself up against a thief who has planned for every eventuality and is always three steps ahead. Things quickly fall apart.

Alone, injured, and trapped, Riker will have to make an unlikely alliance… one that could lead to his team's salvation… or their destruction.

Great Read!

A great read. I hadn’t read a Ryker novel in a long time but any book narrated by Jay Snyder grabs my attention and as usual, I was not disappointed. There were a couple of twists I did not figure out in the story before it happened which is unusual for me. But the book is fast paced, entertaining, heartbreaking and heartwarming. I loved it and recommend it to mystery, warrior readers.

Entertaining

I really enjoyed the storyline. A little different, with lots of action & a most alluring female thief. I’m looking forward the follow on. Jay Snyder has a beautiful voice, which makes for good listening.

Another solid installment

What can I say-- this is a good way to spend a day. Baier isn't Shakespeare or Fitzgerald and probably won't be studied at Harvard or Yale but he doesn't try to be either man! He knows what his readers want and he delivers!

The action and character development are incredible!

J.T. Baier’s Fatal Alliance is a masterclass in blending intricate world-building, gripping intrigue, and characters that leap off the page with vivid realism. From the very first chapter, Baier immerses readers in a world where alliances are forged in shadows, trust is a scarce commodity, and every decision carries weighty consequences.

The novel’s protagonist is a brilliantly crafted figure—flawed yet undeniably compelling, with a depth that allows readers to empathize even in the character’s darkest moments. Baier’s ability to weave moral complexity into the narrative is remarkable, creating tension not just between factions but within the very souls of the characters themselves.

The pacing is impeccable, striking a balance between action-packed sequences and poignant moments of reflection. The political and personal stakes are skillfully interwoven, keeping the reader guessing until the final, jaw-dropping twist. Each scene feels cinematic, with Baier’s prose painting vivid images that linger long after the book is closed.

Fatal Alliance doesn’t just tell a story—it challenges readers to reflect on themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the cost of ambition. It’s a book that stays with you, resonating long after the last page is turned. J.T. Baier has delivered a modern classic in the realm of speculative fiction, and I eagerly await what comes next from this extraordinary talent.

Highly recommended for fans of gripping narratives, complex characters, and thought-provoking storytelling. Fatal Alliance is a must-read.

You're badder

Things look bad, but you are badder... Just when you think Riker is going down, NOPE, he's got a plan. Jay Snyder is a badass voice actor.

Simple Jobs Are Not Always Easy

What seemed like a simple job turned out to not be as easy as it sounded. I like Riker and this series. This was 4.5+ stars but when Riker with injuries was wrestling with the MMA fighter while the briefcase was still fastened to Riker’s wrist and then he bested the MMA fighter, I had to go to 4 stars. Too many times Riker evaded being killed or incapacitated. Regardless, it was an entertaining read. I will definitely continue to read future books. I want to see where the author goes with Jade.

So freaking engaging

I love the series. I’m always listening to my audiobooks during work or in downtime and when something comes up that I have to focus. It’s usually when something‘s happening with the team because there’s always something happening and I don’t wanna put it down. I’m always waiting for the next momentto pick my phone back up and continue.
