About this listen

As a child, artist and potter Dani Bennett witnessed the brutal murder of her parents. With no memory of the incident or her true identity, she was forced to take on a new name and a new life, hidden away in Montana for the past twenty-five years.

Mae Richmond has spent the same stretch of time searching for her granddaughter, who went missing the night her daughter and son-in-law were murdered. Convinced the woman she saw in a pottery magazine feature is the woman she's been searching for, she enlists the help of K-9 officer Mark Lassiter of Pearl Springs, Tennessee, who tracks Dani down.

Skeptical but curious, Dani sets out on a journey to uncover the secrets of her past and reclaim her true identity. But someone close to her is determined to keep the truth of what happened all those years ago hidden.

Family, Romance, Action

I enjoyed the characters and the suspense and action kept the story moving. I was able to figure out "who done it" early on when a certain someone wasn't where they should have been and I prefer to be kept guessing but there was enough going on that I doubted myself until the end so that kept me going. The narrator was good. The child's voice was a little grating but she moved seamlessly through all the other characters so overall an excellent job.

Greed, Bitterness and Forgiveness

Patricia Bradley again has woven a story of suspense, mystery and faith. This story shows that most sins and crimes take place because of pride and greed. It also reminds us that not forgiving others hurts us far more than the ones who hurt us. She is one of my all time favorite authors. You really can’t go wrong with any of her books. I think I have read about all of them!
The narrator was excellent as well!

Just enough mystery that keeps you interested.

I like the way the story flowed. I figure what you’re reading is really good when you come to the end and there isn’t anymore.

Good story

I did not like the reader at all. I think if it was a better reader I would have liked it better
