A cyber-enhanced operator seeks to take down her creators while maintaining her fragile humanity in the thrilling conclusion of this dystopian adventure.

Fighting her way through the dark underbelly of civilization, Juliet Bianchi has become a top-tier mercenary with a heart of gold and a killer smile. A shadowy, high-priced operative embedded with high-tech AI, she goes by the moniker "Lucky," and the life she once led as a metal scrapper seems eons behind her.

Now, armed with her very own formidable monoblade and fresh ink warning all others not to mess with her lest they become very dead, she's taking a step away from business to handle something personal . . .

Not long ago, Juliet went to the wall for her former best friend, Ghoul, and her kin—only to end up betrayed in the worst way. She's finally discovered where her old ally's been hiding from both her and the dangerous megacorporations: war-devastated Earth.

Who knows whether any of them will survive the reunion, but it's a risk Juliet must take. Unfortunately, there's more. The very corporation that developed the tech she carries has been waiting for her to make a mistake like this. A mistake that might deliver her right into their merciless hands.

This series is the best stories I've listened to on Audible. It is highly captivating. The characters are rich and well written. Of course Suzy Jackson did a fantastic job bringing everything to life 👏 👏👏👏👏

Exceedingly Compelling

Another amazing book that had me spending my every waking hours listening. A story so well told my memories of it are like remembering a movie I watched.

Another Plum Parrot Home run!

Just finished the most recent book in the series, so this is an overall review. Absolutely entertaining, believable worlds and excellent characters. Moves at a high pace but you never feel left behind. Love the science and found the augmentations fun to imagine. Wonderfully fully fleshed out female protagonists! Can’t wait for the next book!

Excellent tale

Do you want action? Satisfaction? Do you want to see the bad guys truly cackle, twiddle their fingers, and the good gal try to give them their just desserts? A little (tasteful) romance, all plot lines wrapped up to their conclusion, and the story wrapped up to at least a temporary conclusion that will satisfy?

This is a terrific end to what is hopefully the first arc of the story of Juliet. If it ends up being the final book, it is at a good ending point, but there's room for more, so, who knows what will happen in the future.

Buy this book, then go read Neon Dust from the same author. It has the same vibes.

A fantastic conclusion to one of my favorite science fiction stories.

nothing, my only complaint is that the book is over and now I must wait!

the fast pace, the good natured humanity around Julia

a bit too much treading over and over not just generally self-blame or self-doubt but the exact same specific instance of it over and over. Doubly frustrating when Lucky springs her sister free and explains what she has been up to it's a very jarring and unsatisfying "twenty minutes later" cut.

Good but a bit overwrought

This was just awesome. I am happy how it ended. Left room for another series and relationships growing.

A series I can listen to over and over

I absolutely love this series, narration is perfect and could not have it any other way, I love all the characters in the series and feel that I have grown to know them with such good character development, I hope it just continues because once I’m done with book 6, I won’t know what to do with myself!

Cannot get enough!

Most of this book is wonderful. I had a good time and recommended it.

The only criticism I have is that the interactions between the characters with a cast that has ballooned over six books and that keeps most of them around really becomes a slog around chapter 39 or so.

There are other issues like a brilliant AI with massive resources failing to make smarter tactical decisions and have fail-safes and fall back plans. This is an issue many authors have when writing geniuses... you really have to use the advantage of being able to think about things and talk about them with smart friends in order to model the amount of brain power they should show casually. However, this is only an issue intermittently as the genius AI usually makes optimal decisions. It's still weird when it doesn't.

Great with Occasional lulls in pace.

It's a solid book and love how the other leaves it opwn ended. My only issue is the wish wash on the love interest side, plus was expecting some pieces of her pre lucky days and the such to come up. and be explained to the people finally. Other than. that it's good.

It's Good
