About this listen

Zoe died, got better, and woke up in a new world . . . with a stat system. That's neat, but where is her S-Tier cheat power?

As a newly minted healer, Zoe doesn't need a unique ability to take on murderous cultists, an equally murderous paladin, and the weather. She'd certainly like one, though. It's a fast-paced, violent world, filled with undead ghouls, sprawling dungeons, and far too many scheming nobles, all of whom want a piece of her. A healer is a valuable asset—and becoming a demon and blood magic user only ups the ante.

But when life doesn't give you a cheat power, you figure out how to take it. And Zoe's new demon side reveals the first step to do just that:

Level up. Violently.

the cliffhanger felt artificial and in the wrong place. would have been bettering book two was available in some form other that royal road

the story was engaging while remaining work place. nice bit of action, whit just enough questions to keep listening.

I remember reading the earlier former version. It gained my sentimental attachment, then I read this version and I decided all along that the rewrite was indeed much better. The story is pleasant, fits some relatable tropes, and feels truly original. If I compare many other books and their methods of writing, I suspect there will be a distinct difference that contributed to this book being so well written. Despite a single narrator taking all the rolls (good writing kind of deserves a full cast), they did very well. I anxiously await more books from this series.

Superb story

It’s hard to say what precisely wrong with this book but it’s definitely wrong and I’ll try. This book proves that being educated is not the same as being smart. It’s not really a MC that you would hate exactly but more a character that has all the tools to win in life but still fail. Imagine giving your little brother a basketball, putting them right above the hoop and they still miss except here it’s like that with both her mentality and life. Honestly, if you pick up this book love the world and systems and try your absolute best to ignore the MCs stupidity.
Ngl I wrote this halfway into the book and it got worse. It went from ignoring stupidity to “nah…. this character is SPECIAL in some way”.

If the goal was to make a MC downright stupid then it’s great writing….

This started out very promising, then went downhill with the annoying voice in the MC's head, then really went downhill about halfway into the story when the author suddenly made the character excessively stupid and had her make the worst decisions possible, only saved from death or worse by plot armor. Complete crap.

First off, the title doesn’t fit at all.
The idea is pretty good, and it almost starts off well,
Then it goes right in to the inner monologue….and stays there. On and on and on in circles.
Like a teenage boy with ADHD ran out of Adderall and decided meth was a good substitute this…..story isn’t so much all over the place as it is constantly distracted by everything going on around the main storyline.
Add in half the bad tropes in litrpg, (annoying side kicks, silly names, changing storyline, and a MC who never seems to know what’s going on) and you have train wreck that even if you do manage to finish you will wish you hadn’t.

1 part story, 3 parts nonsense

it feels like it had a lot of potential but I could not get behind the main character's personality. it was like all the worst aspects you could have chosen. you chose and stuffed it into one person this is the kind of personality you give one of the villains so that you're really hyping up for a death scene so everyone's happy when they die but you gave it to the main character

not great

The story was mediocre, but what really dragged this audiobook down for me was the constant, jarring shifts between characters without clear transitions. Combined with a monotone narrator whose character voices barely differed, it became genuinely hard to tell who was speaking at times. The result was more confusing than engaging.
