About this listen

I was born a fighter. Abandoned by my parents, I spent my life forging my own path - one guided by my fists and paved with pain. Untouchable in the ring, I destroyed everyone who faced me, but that's where my victories ended. Outside the ropes, I repeatedly failed the few people who loved me. Including my best friend, Liv James - the one person I'd die to protect. Even though I didn't deserve her, Liv never stopped believing in me. Never gave up. Never let go. After all, she understood what I'd lost, because she'd lost it too. Liv was everything to me, but she was never truly mine. That was going to change. I lost my first love, but I refused to lose my soulmate. Now, I'm on the ropes during the toughest battles of my life. Fighting to be the man she deserves. Fighting the solitude of our pasts. Fighting for her.

Best Series Ever!

i’ve been an audible member for over 10 years and don’t write reviews but this series was so great I just had to share!! I started listening to this book at 10 PM and was so hooked within an hour that I stayed up all night listening. The performances were great, the story kept me hooked, the character development was robust, it made me laugh, it made me cry and overall give me a sense of joy that I listened to a fantastic book. Enjoy ~

Quarry and Liv

Aly Martinez is an absolutely fantastic story teller. I adored this charming, beautiful, and heartfelt story. This entire series has been outstanding. But Quarry is probably my favorite of the Page brothers.
Narration was perfection!

Not my favorite, of the series!

I loved most of this third book, of the series. The only exception was the way that the author made Liv feel guilty about her relationship with Q. I also didn’t think that the way Liv refused to forgive Q for his past wrong doing, fit her personality. Otherwise, I loved the book, even though it made me cry, a lot. I did also hate that I had to say goodbye to these characters, they all really became dear to me. This is definitely not a trilogy you want to miss.

Excellent end to the series

I went through all of the books in this series in the last few days and all are great. This one is especially poignant as we see the three Page brothers achieve all that they were hoping for through the darkness of their early years.

One thing I have to say about all of these books- there is a hopefulness, a beauty, to the way that Aly Martinez writes, as evidenced by these books. There are no long, drawn out silly miscommunications that cause issues between the couples- no, these couples fight against real threats that solidify their bonds and build on their love. I especially adored that about this series and this book was no different.

Liv has loved Quarry forever. They were best friends all through childhood and then something that happened when they were young broke them apart. Years later, they are back together as best friends and Quarry has a girlfriend and Liv and she become best friends. Until the girlfriend dies. That's really where part 2 of the story begins. It was beautifully done and there's always a difficulty in portraying a love between a woman and a man who has lost a great love of his life. But this author did it so well. For those that love sports romances, all of this is happening with boxing in the background.

I fell in love with all the characters. And the family- I love this family and I'm so happy that we had the opportunity to revisit them throughout the three books.

Carson Beck and Laura Jennings narrate all the books in this series and they were really good. I thought that Carson's female voice was a little high this time around but it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book at all mostly because I was so invested in the characters.

I Adore This Series!

I can't even begin to express how much I adore this series. Every single book in this series has made me cry at least one time while reading. All the books are so emotionally potent that I'm at a loss for words.

Mrs. Martinez has a way with her writing, that even something as boring as a backstory to her main characters becomes interesting along the way. It also blows my mind how she got me (as a reader) to care so much about a character who was eventually going to be gone by the first chapter.

Quarry (AKA 'Q') is incredibly stubborn and tries to live how he wants to live. As stubborn as he is, he's also loyal and caring to a fault. He will do anything and everything in his power, if it means harm will not to come to those he loves.

Liv is a traumatized little girl who's feisty and stands up for herself. She had it rough in the first few years of her life and even though everything turned around the trauma is still there. The amazing thing is that she doesn't let it hold her back from experiencing life and love.

I hope this isn't the last book in this series (even though it REALLY felt like the end because of all the different point of views in the last chapter of this novel). I enjoy Mrs. Martinez's writing and will probably be picking up some of her other books in the near future.

My Favorite Quotes:

"Our happy lives were nothing more than a gentle melody that lulls you into a nightmare."

"Every single day, I smiled. Every single day, I lived. Every single day, I laughed."

"Reality didn't seem like the right word at all. That moment felt a whole lot like fantasy to me."

"Losing you is frightening. Trusting you not to break me is petrifying."

Great ending to a great series

This one was a little slower to me than the first two in the series. But still a great read! I have loved all three of the Paige brothers and their journeys to love and happiness. All three books are emotional and heartfelt. This one had me crying at the end to see all three brothers get their HEA. Great series!

This series is awesome

The whole series is great! I listened each of the three books back-to-back. It has all the elements that keep you riveted. The author shows that even with different abilities (deafness, paralysis) dreams can and do come true. Narrators are terrific. They are new narrators to me.

I gave this review without anything in return. Definitely worth a credit.

Great series finale!

I've really enjoyed this series set in the world of professional boxing and the complex men who are the heroes. This book was about Quarry and Liv, and I think it was probably the best of the trio. The story was sad in places, funny at times (especially their text messages) and very sexy. Narration was well done as well. A great listening experience.
