About this listen

Nearly three decades ago, Katherine Kyle and Jamison Parker saved the life of the president of the United States, in the process exposing an exceedingly dangerous, powerful shadow organization. The entire episode came at great personal cost and forever changed the trajectory of the couple's lives.

Now at the peak of her career as one of the preeminent novelists of the day, Jay is finally ready to put the past to rest in a fictional treatment...until powerful government forces intervene.

Oscar-winning actress Dara Thomas and her new wife, screenwriter Rebecca Minton, may hold the key to disseminating the truth.

Two of the most visible, formidable power couples in the country stand against the might of a government hell-bent on keeping secrets.

From the hallowed halls of the White House to the glittering streets of Hollywood, this is one adventure for the books.

Bravo!!

Loved this book, loved the entire Kate and Jay series. Suggest one also reads “All That Lies Within” to get to know Dara and Rebecca, who are key to the story as well as Kate and Jay. Kudos to author Lynn Ames for the riveting, engaging story and delightful, characters you fall in love with and cheer for.

More!

This cannot be the last book! There has to be more! There's got to be! I mean, there's still room for the clandestine organization plot. I'm sure they were still some that haven't been accounted for.

I love the heroes and characters in all 4 books. There are so many layers that can still be peeled off and more stories to tell.

Another thought that I need to address. I read one of the reviews from another reader, she was complaining about the voice actor for the Final Cut. She was complaining about how the voicing had confused her because the voice of the two main heroines was somehow wrong 😳. I vehemently disagree with that review. I followed the story and I wasn't confused or even though the voices of the characters were somehow different.

Also, I think sometimes people's expectations are somehow very obtuse and they want things to stay the same. Life changes every day we wake up. The book and the characters should reflect that reality. So, circling back to the plot and character development, if the characters were not allowed to evolve, the book would be boring and not worth reading. The character's development is what made this book a great read. You just can't wait to see how each one came out of the shoot from the other side.

Anyway, my two cents, read all four of the books. You won't regret it. Keep an open mind and enjoy. Enough said!

To the author, please don't let this be the last of the Kate and Jay series.

Top of the list. Loved that the characters from All that Lies within blended with the Jay and Kate series. I hope I can find more.

Absolutely wonderful story, Not my favorite voice.

The story is lovely, a toss back to being in love back when you dared not let the wrong people find out about it. It was a harsh time to find yourself attracted to the same sex and have that being such a burden to being able to explore it and try to revel in it. The narrator is not horrible at the job, she reads quite clearly and is easily understood. You can tell the characters apart pretty well, and she puts a good amount of emotions and feelings into her words. I simply find her voice harsh to my ears, and that is in no way her fault. By the end of the book, I was able to simply enjoy the story with it's extremes and got used to the voice that brought the story to me.

Anither great story. shame about narration

What happened to Kate's voice? Ms Beresford's narration has been exemplary across the first three books in the series until this book, yet she portrays Kate as a matronly spinster in this book.
it really did spoil it for me. Otherwise, another command performance from author. and narrator both.

Brilliant conclusion to an exceptional series

I love the world of Kate and Jay. I also love their love. I don't want their story to end.
Contrary to a few reviews critical of the voices used by narrator Emily Beresford, I think she did a wonderful job throughout the series. At this point in the series, a couple of decades have passed, and our characters have grown and matured. Emily's voice changes were consistent with the passage of time.
What to listen to next? I have no idea, because I just want MORE Kate and Jay.
