We live in a new financial world. Our wallets - like every other aspect of our lives - have gone fully digital. From mobile pay to on-demand everything to cryptocurrencies, technology is rewriting the rules for how we earn, save, spend, and invest.

Von Tobel says that it can. In this straightforward and jargon-free guide, she shows us how to use the simple tools found on any smartphone to put more money back into our wallets. Listeners will learn:

  • Six new trends that are impacting our finances - and how to optimize them
  • How to navigate the world of mobile pay and cash in by going cash-free
  • How to save time and money by putting your savings - and spending - on autopilot
  • Best practices for keeping your identity and financial accounts ultra-secure
  • How to talk to digital natives - i.e., your kids - about financial planning
  • What the Bitcoin hype is all about and how to prepare for the future of digital money

unoriginal and uninspiring

You would be better served by just reading a blog or a listening to some quality videos on YouTube or podcasts. This is full of your typical silicon valley jargon and is neither entertaining nor informative. I was really disappointed because I had gotten this audiobook after hearing the author's Ted talk which was actually rather good.

Ok for beginners

It was very basic information with an odd section on Bitcoin that felt out of place with the rest of the book. Personally, I was looking for something more advanced with more in-depth info. It’s good for someone who’s just starting out.

I don’t know who this was written for?

This wasn’t a bad book, but it wasn’t good either. Very repetitive in some points (‘gig economy’, ‘block chain’, etc.). Not super informative on a lot of the topics unique to the book, but just enough high level information to confuse an older person and underwhelm a younger person with things we already know. The author narrating the book was very monotone which was hard to want to listen to as well.
Ultimately the book left me feeling like I could’ve gotten the same information from one long blog post or some 10 page guide, and I’m still confused on who the book’s audience is supposed to be? Baby boomers? Gen X? Millennials? Who knows?
Glad I got it through an audible sale. (;
