Wise words and inspiring ideas from the Jewish faith that will change your life

Discover the secrets to a fearless, meaningful life, found in the wisdom of Jewish scripture.

Today, more than ever, we act out of fear. We fear change, rejection, failure, and suffering. But what if we could find a way to live that challenges conventional Western psychology and looks to the future instead of picking over the past? What if we could replace our fear with purpose, and discover our potential for growth instead of focusing on our limits?

What Would You Do If You Weren't Afraid? draws on a wide range of chassidus (Jewish principles) to offer a new philosophy for life. With its uplifting belief that you already have all the ingredients within and around you to lead a joyous life, this audiobook will help you to reconnect with your courage and move forward freely, without fear.

This audiobook offers practical solutions for relationships, parenting, work, dealing with past traumas, and controlling anxiety. But it also reveals how to take the most important journey of your life: the one into your own soul.

Author: Michal Oshman is Head of Company Culture, Diversity and Inclusion at TikTok Europe and formerly responsible for international leadership and team development at Facebook. Throughout her career, Michal has trained and coached hundreds of tech leaders. She served as an officer in the Israeli Defence Forces and has three university degrees in psychodynamic and systemic thinking, sociology and anthropology. Michal lives with her husband and their four children in London, UK.

Critic reviews

"Refreshingly honest, [Michal] doesn't project a veneer of perfection but rather shatters the illusion that perfection is something to strive for. The format of the book allows for self-reflection at one's own pace, making it very approachable for readers of any or no religious persuasion." (Booklist)

"This is a magnificent book - combining the best of rigorous self-reflection, professional and personal counsel and Jewish wisdom. Michal Oshman shows, in this beautifully construed, wisely informed and always engrossing work, how Jewish wisdom can serve its intended purpose - practical guidance - en route to making one's life happier, more fulfilling and better." (Mark Gerson, cofounder and chairman, United Hatzalah and author of the Los Angeles Times best seller, The Telling)

"Reading this beautiful book is like sitting with a wise friend who is helping you make sense of your life. In drawing on the insights of Jewish tradition, Michal Oshman shows us how to nurture our souls, the 'flame within a shell,' and turn pain into growth. Read this book gratefully, and then give it to someone you love." (Yossi Klein Halevi, senior fellow, Shalom Hartman Institute and author of the New York Times best seller Letters to My Palestinian Neighbor)

Great book.

Very refreshing way to deal with difficult parts of life keeping in mind that you are made up of many parts and your emotional and spiritual parts are not less important than your physical and intellectual parts.
Combining modern ways of coaching high-achievers and ancient wisdom of Judaism. Thank you

Inspiring

Jewish wisdom - Life Application -Worth Listenig to... - Good example of a life of Torah living except the short mention of optional pronouns which contradicts Torah.

A treasure beyond words.

"What Would *You* Do If You Weren't Afraid?"
If you seek a truly wholesome, transformative book, look no further.
Don't be afraid of the title...
I don't have adequate words to praise Michal Oshman's book.
It is a treasure beyond words.
Michal vividly brings to life a whole array of Jewish Wisdom, really, Chassidic and Mystical concepts, in practical, real-life examples, which will improve every human relationship we have, starting from ourselves with ourselves, with G-d, our parents, children, siblings, (family) students, employees, bosses, co-workers, friends and community.
All the above and more, woven through her own wide range of personal struggles, depicted with raw, unrestrained critique of herself, with almost uncomfortable-to-hear honesty, which made me cry, laugh and listen intrigued.
If you will read / listen to / share one book this year... it should be this. (I just listened to Michal reading her own (audio)book at during my drive to Cleveland and back to NY.)
Order her book in print or audio, gift it to a friend, listen to some interviews and more about Michal here:

40 minutes in - all I know is she is Jewish

This book rambles about all matters related to ber personal religious upbringing but won’t get to what the subject matter is. Enough
