okay

This is the first book of the series, and while I love cop-serieses, but I wish the story would have shown the cops more.
I feel like I was missing some crucial part of the story, and it was a little confusing.
The narrators did a good job.

Intriguing but wanted more substance!

I really like how Find Her by Chris Patchell opened up and gave us an intriguing beginning. The story basically covers two main characters, Lacey and Noah. I love how Noah’s character develops throughout the story. I do wish there was more of a backstory and we understood more of his early years. I feel like there’s a very intriguing story there that we get some slight implications of but we only get a feel for it not the entire story. I think that’s the way with most of this story. I get a great story but I’m left wanting more of it. I feel like this would have been a fantastic story with 2 to 3 more hours added to it.

The narration by Cass Medcalf and Nathan Agin did a great job. Medcalf does a great job being a cop and being a woman. You can see her struggle with two of her titles. She wants to be the best mom and wife but she’s always working. I felt like Metcalf was able to really express the emotions and difficulties Metcalf was facing. Agin was also great. I’m honestly not sure if I’ve listened to either of these narrators previously. I was, however, impressed with both of the narrators.I would give the narration a 4 star rating and the book itself a 3 star rating, so I’m thinking an average of 3.5 stars seems pretty accurate.

Action Packed thriller

This one threw me for a loop but definitely kept my interest. It definitely is well written and fast paced. Even thought it is a shorter book the author did a wonderful job covering all the bases for this mystery. I did listen to this on audio. The narration is very well done.

Definitely worth the listen!

I found this to be an enjoyable read (or listen to since I used the audio version). It held my interest throughout the entire book. And I couldn't wait to see what happened in the end. The only reason this isn't a 5-star for me is that it seems a little forgettable. I read and listen to a ton of books. Some stand out, you can remember every detail, and you are actually mad when the book is over. This didn't happen for me with this book. It wasn't a bad book. I think maybe it just needed a few more pages. Go a little deeper. But hey, what do I know? I struggle with writing reviews. Anyway, I'm glad that I read it. I will probably even read the second one. I have high hopes for the next one actually. Also, the narrators did an excellent job. Having a bad narrator can totally ruin a good story! And these guys did great. I am overall, Impressed.

This was another #AudiobookObsesion book. They give me one of their excellent books, and I write a completely unbiased review. Thanx guys. Your Fabulous #TheFlock

Lacey James

This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last. I loved the story, and the characters, especially Lacey James. All three parts of the book kept me engaged, and interested and I wanted to see what would happen next. Will definitely get the following books of the series because I can't wait to see what adventures will have the main characters.
The narrators did a perfect job of presenting the story in the best possible way.

Great Story & Narration🎧 A Thrilling Mystery!

This fantastic small-town crime thriller is well-written with interesting storylines that captivate your attention the entire time. The story starts with the theft of a hammer at a local hardware store in Sweet Home, Oregon. The owner, Sadie, called 911 to report it and Officer Lacey James from Sweet Home P.D. responds to the call, and is on the case, a case that leads them into something much bigger. I enjoyed the author’s writing style and how she presented the story in three parts, starting with what leads them to the investigation, the second part was about the perpetrator and what he was up to and why, the third part brings it all together. Excellent detective work by Lacey James, I loved her dedication to solve the crime and not give up on finding her. It is a cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, both crime and personal, some angst, mystery, and thrilling suspense that brings you to the edge of your seat. Chris Patchell, thank you for this great story and thrilling ride, I am looking forward to what comes next for Lacey James.

🎧 📚🎧 Cass Medcalf and Nathan Agin did a great job bringing the characters and story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that was a perfect fit for that character’s persona, and were believable in every role they played. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen.

Fast-paced mystery

This story felt short, but was complete, well-written, and had everything needed for a good mystery. We start with the seemingly innocuous shoplifting theft of a hammer, and end up with kidnapping and murder.

Told in three parts and dual POVs, we spend about a third of the story in the criminal's mind. I always find it interesting to get this perspective and see what justifications the bad guy uses for his behavior.

Lacey James is a woman trying to balance her personal life with her work. She's a good detective, but I think part of her determination to solve the case stems from her perception that she is failing as a mother and wife.

Cass Medcalf and Nathan Agin did a great job with the story.

Suspenseful and exciting!

I love listening to mysteries, and when this was recommended, I jumped in with both ears! This is my first Chris Patchell book, but I am looking forward to listening to more of Lacey James's cases. This is split into 3 parts, and each one is leading us to the answers we are seeking. A stolen tool has the small town on edge as they look for the culprit. Part two introduces us to so much more. The actuality of the crime, and what it leads to and part 3 brings it all together. Lacey James is a realistic detective, with family issues, thoughts of her career and children and then the thinking of a madman. It's amazing taking this adventure, getting in the head of our perpetrator and dealing with the outcome. It's cleverly written and makes me want more.

Cass Medcalf is fantastic as Lacey. She brings to life the feelings of conflict she has with her personal life. Then she uses all her strength to work the case with a focused feel. Nathan Agin is new to me, and what a great introduction! Playing our madman, he is innocent at times with that edge of evil. Loved these two and the book. Can't wait to hear the next one!
