Kentucky was only ever going to be a summer job. Come fall, Blue Riley would be back in North Carolina, in college. But one job led to another, one town led to another, and one woman led to another. Now, after twenty years Blue faces the hardest question of all - is it time to go home?

This story is so well written and read. Each character is well rounded. It’s a heartwarming and wrenching at times tale. I feel like these are people that I actually know. I am glad to have experienced this book.

I...I...I Loved It!

The book is one of the best I have listened to. The characters come alive and are very believable. I only wish it were as easy to find good women in the lesbian community as this book implies.

wonderfully written!

Epic tale of wending toward integrity and commitment across decades of social change told via one woman’s quest for love and meaningful life work.

this story starts off strong and quickly. then the middle is a little slow and plodding but it makes the end feel more impactful than it would have otherwise.

it started slow but sped up then slowed down again. the story was good it seems like blu always came back to grace so many times she had her mind on her a lot. now most would run away and find piece with someone else. it was ok ending, but my thoughts are different from most.

it was eye opening.

Okay so I am not sorry I picked this one, but I think Blue needs a kick in the backside. How a person could whine and be a suck for so....long. Frustrating.

Interesting saga.

Wow!! I laughed and cried , and cried some more. This is such a beautiful story of love and loss and finding love again. About how hard life can be and how our choices define us. Truly an amazing book I really hope Wynn Malone releases more work soon.

There is a lot of intermittent pain throughout Blue’s journey, but it’s well worth the ride. The story was fantastic, and I also particularly loved the narrator for this book. She was so invested in the story that I could hear her emotion breaking through during the parts that made me feel the same. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Thank you!

All the feels!!

I want to start by addressing things I read from other reviews that almost stopped me from listening to this one. A few other reviews said the timing wasn’t clear in the book, this is just false. The book is split into parts and the beginning of each part tells you the exact time the following chapters cover, so as long as you actually pay attention its fairly clear. I also read from many reviews that this book is depressing, and I don’t think so. It is a lot more realistic than most lgbt romances. It’s not as simple as “the reluctant couple fell in love and overcame one big problem the end.” My only real complaint is the main character is from central Alabama, and I’m also from central Alabama, so I cringed pretty hard whenever the narrator would pronounce Calera as “kay leh ra.” Lived here my entire life and have never once heard it pronounced like that. Overall a great story and absolutely worth your time, especially while its included with audible plus

It's my third listen, gets better each time when I listen to it. Story about MC Blue journey from her early 20's to her 40's. Her feeling towards her first and only true love Grace. How their situation and circumstances prevent them from together, after all the years apart. You can never forget your true love. Great story, this story is one of my favorite, I will listen to it again.

It gets better each time I re-listen
