About this listen

Forced to retire from his job as a scout for the Yankees, Jack Barrett is just getting by in a small Florida town when his daughter drags him to watch the local minor league team play. On the field, he spots a remarkable player, Mikey Clement, a kid whose amazing natural skill on the field is overshadowed by his bad attitude and solitary habits. In Clement, Jack thinks he might have found his ticket back to the big time. But the young man has a secret that will put all of Jack's plans - and maybe even his life - in jeopardy.©2008 Stephen Frey (P)2008 BBC Audiobooks America Suspense Fiction

Enjoyable listen...

This book held my attention. Narration is good and the story has a couple of unexpected twists. I really like Stephen Frey and this book, while not his best effort, did not disappoint.

Incredibly stupid

Words cannot decribe how totaly stupid this story is. The story takes you in 10 different directions and each one is more unbelievable than the previous. Professional hit men need a full round to kill at point blank range and then scream when they recieve a flesh wound. State police give a baby to and old man to hide and falsify police reports, grocery store bag boys make $400.00 a week. This is only a small atempt to describe the idiocy of this story. I would not even give it a half of a star. Save your money and your mind.
