About this listen

It’s no secret that I’ve been in love with Jax Cartwright for half my life. A terrible decision, really, and not just because he’s my brother’s best friend or he’s ten years older than me. Thanks to an overprotective family, he’s ignored me for years, but still, I can’t get his grumpy a** out of my head. And in a wine-fueled, post-bad date funk, I make another terrible decision: show up at his cabin to ask why he’s never given me a chance. The storm that got me stuck there overnight was a total fluke, but I’m no fool. While Jax is perfectly clear about not wanting a family or love or any of the happily-ever-afters I’ve dreamed of, what’s the harm in asking for just one night? The worst thing he can say is no.

He doesn’t though, and I was saying yes, yes, yes a whole lot after that.

Best. Decision. Ever.

One night is enough to feel like I can move on, and we agree to let it be a secret kept safe between us.

But you know what makes it hard to keep a one-night secret about my not-so-secret crush?

A positive pregnancy test. Oh baby, things are about to get interesting.

Wonderful!

A great raw story of unrequited love between a little sister and her brothers tall dark and broody best friend. Well written, authentic and realistic. It’s been awhile since I read other books in this series so I don’t remember if they were as good but this was fantastic.

Poppy and Jax

Forever Starts Tonight is the fourth book in the Wilder Family series and follows Poppy and Jax. Their story is heartbreaking and beautiful. I was hooked from the start and devoured this story in one sitting. Karla has a special gift and writes stories that stick with me. Not everyone enjoys the surprise pregnancy trope, but I truly feel it was done well in this story.

Poppy has always felt something more for Jax, her brother’s best friend, but she has only been seen as the little sister in his eyes. Determined to change that, she visits Jax at his secluded cabin, only for an ice storm to trap them together. They share a night that they agree will be a one-time thing, which leads to a surprise. When Jax returns from a three-month soul-searching trip abroad, they must face the reality of their situation.

I loved Poppy and Jax together. They had amazing chemistry, and I enjoyed witnessing the development of their relationship. Jax's background added a deeper element to the story, and explains why he was afraid to accept Poppy's love. I loved the growth he experienced throughout the story. He was determined to take care of Poppy and give her everything she needed. Poppy showed that she was a safe space for Jax and that she would take care of his heart. This book has the perfect mix of heartfelt moments, tension, passion, and humor. I love the Wilder family and can't wait to read more.

Narration:
Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais perform this audiobook in dual-style narration. They can do no wrong in my eyes and are two of my absolute favorites. I will listen to anything they narrate. Samantha and Connor brought Poppy and Jax's story to life and made it impossible for me to stop listening. They delivered the tension, heartbreak, and heat for this brother’s best friend, age gap, and unrequited love romance.

Jax and Poppy have my heart! Loved this audio!

Jax can call me Angel any day! Forever Starts Tonight by Karla Sorensen was a sweet and emotional accidental pregnancy romance that squeezed my heart in all the best ways. Poppy and Jax’s journey to HEA was everything I wanted and more. Poppy was the perfect sunshine to Jax’s grumpiness and the pining and longing between these two simmered and finally burned bright.

Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais perform this audiobook in dual narration. #Craismoor never disappoints me because these two always embody their characters fully. Samantha created a lighter, vibrant tone for Poppy giving her the perfect amount of confidence, sass, and passion as she finally went after the man she desired. Connor’s deeper, warm timbre conveyed Jax’s broody, reluctant demeanor. However, Connor turned on the lovable charm when Jax’s guard lifted and all his true feelings shone through. Both narrators created an underlying steamy tension that was meant to be right from the start.

Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of an age-gap romance with an outgoing heroine ready to take a chance, a hunky brother’s best friend, drunken courage, stormy night spice, swoony nicknames, a surprise pregnancy, a big devoted family, unexpected realities, new living arrangements, friendships, baby kicks, love declarations, and a HEA that was forever in the making then you will love Poppy and Jax’s story. I always look forward to more from Karla Sorensen.

If you don’t read this book your life is incomplete

Wow. Well, Poppy knows who and what she wants. I loved her character. She’s mature and focused and also human.

Jax tried. He tried to keep his promise to Cameron and himself, but that dang Poppy had to push the limits of his self-control.

I loved the story line, it was perfect. I laughed, I cried, I was frustrated, and I was jubilant. It’s a great read for all the feels. I’m also happy Cameron did not punch Jax. ;) A very sweet ending wraps up the journey for these two.

I can never get enough of Karla's books!

The characters in this series are so full of love and relatability that you're instantly drawn into their family dynamics, feeling as if you belong in their circle.

Poppy's story is packed with some of my favorite tropes: brother's best friend, childhood crush, forced proximity, and surprise pregnancy.

I've adored the Wilder family from the very beginning, and watching their journey continue to unfold just warms my heart. I always grab the audiobook so I can fully immerse myself in their world.

Loved poppy’s story

Loved this book, feels like we waited so long for poppy’s book and this did not disappoint!

Not a fan of the female narrator, she sounds like she has a Brooklyn accent that she’s trying to disguise but does work and it’s annoying for this role as poppy is not from nyc.

The male narrator was amazing which is why I gave a four star. I’m fully a fan of dual narration but this one would have been better with just him!
